Haha, thank you very much, it feels quite nice.

As far as receiving my passport on the 18th of August, that is the date I was instructed to return and pick it up. For that reason, that timeline event is highlighted in red till it comes to pass at which time, it will turn green. I thought that was obvious. ;-)

Hahahaha... I don't think Lisa wanted to hear that.

By the way, what time zone do you live in, Darth? You have received your passport on Aug 18th??? :D

Congratulations on being done with the journey!

I'm sure you'll be fine. This is the most straightforward part of the immigration process. However, you should prepare for some disappointment...

I was just playing..

Hope to be in your position in a not too distant future.

Thanks, man..

Getting everything together in the next couple of days. Looked up all my past trips today.

I'm ready for the long haul, haha. New York is slow. If I get a "less than euphoric" officer at my interview, I'll deal with it.

Hopefully those could be the only two kinds of disappointment and the result will be a blue passport in my hand..

Well, I was referring to a different kind of disappointment which is the kind you feel when you become a United States citizen.

For me, it has been a little disappointng so far since I had such high expectations. I was under the impression that life would open up once I gained US citizenship, but so far, it's been quite lame:

- my credit card balances are still the same and did not vanish as I had assumed;

-apparently, I'm still required to join the queue when checking out at the supermarket (I had incorrectly assumed that as a citizen, I could jump the line but I found out the hard way this afternoon that that's not the case)

- I still have to pay full price for airfares on American Airlines (which until this morning, I assumed was a state airline with subsidised fares for citizens...)

... and, oh, my boss is refusing to increase the number of my paid vacation days. I tried to make the point that I was a citizen now, but he was such a douche and was like "Under US labour law, we have to treat everyone the same regardless of their immigration status" or something like that. What's the good of being a citizen then?

More important is your "Beibehaltungsgenehmigung". Won't be necessary for the interview, but so you don't loose your German citizenship.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

I got my citizenship last week but i was applying on a 5 year rule so i cant really relate to you. One thing i can say is that i was asked in my appointment letter to bring in a bunch of documents.... The Immigration officer could NOT have cared less about them and did not even take a look.

That is funny...

You do have to wait until you get your US passport to gain all that... :-)
