In response to speakerbox, the official "Notice Date" might well be different than the date of your email. In my case, it was. I received the email/text message and my check was cashed on 25 August. But my official Notice Date is earlier - August 22. I am trying not to get too excited because the next step is the really long wait. I see that some people get NOA2 really fast (in 2 months or even less) but this is not to be expected. My estimated date of adjudication is at the end of October. I hope it will not be longer than that. Good luck to all August filers.

I can only think she didn't include a Letter of Intent to Marry within the 90 days following arrival in the US. The fee is USD340 so not sure what the 650 is for unless that is local currency equivalent from where she is applying from. I've always thought that if you didn't send payment that they immediately rejected the petition. Does that sound like what has happened here?

(Both the petitioner and the foreign fiance(e) have to provide a Letter of intent.. maybe they only sent one....?

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

She needs to follow the Step by Step k1 guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

There, they will provide a sample of the letter of intent that she needs to do. The filing fee for a K1 Visa is 340$. It's weird that they are asking for 650$.

For you August 2014 filers, I am an August 2013 filer. I remember the same excitement I had when receiving my NOA 1, and the agony of month after month passing to receive our NOA 2, almost 9 months later. Hope and excitement gets you through the process, but keep your expectations realistic. Otherwise, you will begin to think something is wrong with your application and cause more stress. For some of us, it just takes a longer time for USCIS to process our requests.

We were approved at our interview on August 11. Now we are just waiting for the actual Visa and Passport to be returned for travel. It's been about three weeks, but we were just recently told this is the normal waiting time coming from the US Embassy in Honduras. So, a little longer for us to wait. But, I am confident things will work out for us, just as I am confident all of you will be successful as well.

Although I am a newbie, I think the request does not sound right. I am wondering if your sister-in-law got spammed by someone wanting money and pretending to be Immigration. Make sure that the letter is legitimate - call Immigration if you need to. Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks for the advise. I certainly do not want to wait 9 months like you did just for the NOA2 - that seems excessive. And I agree that I would begin to think something is wrong. But congratulations on the approval from the Embassy. The wait is almost over!!

Hi all,

I am also an Aug filer. Sent in the paper work on the 15th of Aug. I didn't know how to create the timeline for the application process so I just listed the events in my about me section. I got my NOA1, and now the wait begins. Not concerned with Texas as much as I am worried about India. Have heard nothing but horror stories to date. lol oh and did I mention this website is amazing? hahaha
