How much does it cost to file I-485 for a minor child? USCIS website says a minor child filing with at least one parent pays $635 total, does that mean a child doesnt pay for biometric fees? second question, how many passport pictures I need to send for each applicant (my wife and stepson)

Yes $635 total is correct so assuming that the $85 is already included in that amount. And include 2 pics of each applicant.

It's that price if the child is under 14 because they don't take fingerprints, just pics at the biometrics appt. I included 2 pics for each application: i485, i131, and i765.

Children under 14 do not need to get biometrics. Six passport photos per person(2 for each of the 3 forms).

I-765 is the EAD(Employment Authorization Document). For the K-2, it will just be a government issued ID and they can get an SSN using it.

For K2 visa holders to get a SSN they need either an EAD (I-765) or a Green Card (I-551).
