I just called the NVC (upon my fiancé's very insistent demand) to check if they'd received our case yet. Our NOA2 was received September 18. They don't have it yet, just to save anyone else around the same time a 30 minute wait!

My NOA2 is September 15th and called NVC last Thursday and they received my file on October 1st. They gave me my case number. Not sure what to do with it since they told me it would take around 20 days to send to embassy.

Hmmm not letting me edit so here is my question. When I check the status of the visa on the NVC site it says "Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."

Does that mean they actually know the date already and I could call and get it, or it's like the rest of the automated systems and less than accurate?

Thanks

How do you track on NVC website? They gave me a case number, but not sure what to do with it. Also, I thought we are suppose to schedule interview...they (Embassy of NVC) do?

Mine said the same thing. I believe it's just an automated response because we schedule our own interview in Nigeria.

Wow! I just (like 1 min ago) got a text...and we are approved:) So, since they received my RFE on the 26th of September, it took them one week and two days! Not too bad :) Now let's hope that they can be fairly speedy with the next step. I've still got my fingers crossed for a late December marriage. I wish all of you the best of luck. I'm going to stay around on the boards.

Struck out again with NVC. I've spoken to the same guy a couple times now, kinda surprised. I think that's a sign NVC could use more staff to answer calls. That and being on hold for 50 minutes...

Hi Michael,

Sorry, the lawyer sent it and I didn't ask how she was sending it. I know that USCIS send it me the RFE via USPS and it only took 3 days so I expected it to take the same going back to them. I suspect my reply was received in 3 days but it took another few days for USCIS to sort it and acknowledge that they received it. So I think your RFE is there and they will let you know soon. Their system is weird tonight.

Got the email at 11:00 and the text just now at 11:30.
