CEAC says Issued - Book Flight and Quit Job?

So after almost a year and a half and a week after the interview ceac.state.gov says issued.

Is it safe to book a flight and quit my job or should I wait till my passport made it here?

(I want to hear the first thing is fine but I know the second is probably more reasonable - I'm too excited to finally start our common life though)

Well if it is issued your status that mean that the visa is print, only you need to wait the passport.

Soon it will arrive, normally in one week or before

With the current visa issuance problems they are having, I would not buy anything. I would wait till I have it in my hand, or at least at the delivery office. Then you know it has been printed and out of the system and on the way to you. You do not know how long the DOS will take to get it out to you.

Wait until the paper visa is in your pocket. Probably a week or so.

Things can still go wrong. Not likely, but probability is still not ZERO. Please wait a bit longer.

I would not quit job or book flights until you have passport, visa, and

everything you need in your hand.

I've been reading VJ site posts for the past 10 months or so,

and you wouldn't believe the strange and unpredictable things that are

happening over and over again.

I've seen posts where

- things get printed with wrong info (name, birth date, etc.)

- things get sent to wrong address

- things were sent but not arriving on time

- etc. etc...

At this point, it's probably a smaller risk...but it's not fail proof yet.

Dont worry your visa will be issued soon, that is important when change from immigrant to no inmigrant that mean that soon it will be print it, just let me know.

Maybe today changes to issued or tomorrow.

Heyy, I'm in the same place where you are, ceac says its Issued, But Its been about 3 weeks since the interview, Last night sent them an email and this was their response :

Your visa has been authorized and we are in the process of finalizing your immigrant visa file. Once final processing of your case has been completed, we will send you your passport and immigrant visa packet via the courier service you have selected. Please be aware that final processing of immigrant visas often takes up to two weeks and in some cases can take even longer.

So two more weeks from now?! That will make them 5 weeks after the interview .. Hope I'm wrong.

Oh Just noticed that on the ceac case status check, the status updated date was changed to 8 Aug, it was 10 Jul, But the message is still the same, (Issued and the visa was printed) Don't know what that means.
