Embassy Expedite Approved Interview on August 8th

Case completed on July 18th after a NVC expedite and case sent to Jamaica and status changed to READY on July 25th. Have not gotten a case complete email but the embassy in Kingston called today. Interview scheduled for August 8th and medical for July 31st.

Fingers crossed that after NOA 1 in May 2013 we are finally getting to the end of the journey.

USCIS:

Marriage (if applicable): 2012-08-10

I-130 NOA1 : 2013-05-10

I-130 RFE : 2013-12-17

I-130 RFE Sent : 2013-12-30 (they lost his picture)

I-130 Approved : 2014-01-13

NVC:

NVC Received : 2014-02-21

Received DS-261 / AOS Bill : 2014-03-10

Pay AOS Bill : 2014-03-10

Submit DS-261 : 2014-03-10

DS-261 form reject- under review: NVC keeps saying the form is incorrect. They made an error for two months re this form.

Checklist 1 AOS : They wanted 2013 even though we filed before the end of tax season

Receive IV Bill : 2014-05-23

Pay IV Bill : 2014-05-23

Send IV Package : 2014-05-26

Checklist 2 AOS : 2014-06-06 Issue with resubmitted I-864 form - did not auto populate one of the numbers

Requested Expedite : 2014-07-11

Case Completed at NVC : 2014-07-18

Consulate Received : 2014-07-25

Embassy:

Receive Instruction and Interview appointment letter : 2014-07-29

Medical : 2014-07-31

Interview : 2014-08-08 - APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The petitioner wrote a letter explaining all the farces along the 14 month journey including issues with the NVC's handling of our paperwork. He sent it in with point form details and within a week we were told case complete.

The letter is addressed to the NVC and must include all the relevant headers -case number, petitioner's name etc as well as contact information

I know you're excited, but I don't see why you're calling this an expedite. Looking at your timeline, it seems that they just did the best anyone could possibly expect given your dates. Don't want others to be confused, or emailing NVC asking for expedites that aren't.

For me, an expedite means "I am no longer in the line with everyone else." Your case looks like the line sped up a bit, but it's still within reasonable time frames.

I disagree...even the embassy confirmed today that they are back logged. The lady then referenced the expedite request and gave me instructions to get the medical done in the next day or so. Furthermore the lady at the hospital was certainly not nice when I told her the interview was only a week away as they have a week to 10 days before interview as minimum guidelines.

As a matter if fact my brother in law applied for his daughter a month after me and was told yesterday that it may be another two months before he hears from the NVC and not call back before that.. He is entering his 14th month. I know persons waiting for Kingston interviews who have case complete before me and some finished before me have interview dates after me. As such I am unsure which line you believe has sped up incidentally only after oral confirmation by both NVC and embassy of an expedite approved.

When did u apply for the expedite?How many days did it take them to review the email?

Service Center (which your I-130 was approved from)

NOA2 date-6th Jan (TSC)

Date NVC received your case -28th Jan

Date case number was assigned-14th March

Date AOS package was sent out-18th March

Date IV package was sent out

Date DS-260 was completed

Hi

It took one week to complete the request and less than one week to get to the embassy and then 2 business days for the embassy to respond. It all depends the supervisor says on the country as not all embassies work in the same way in regards to expedite requests.
