the I-134 IS the affidavit of support. :) there's a post here on what london requires in terms of supporting documents for the I-134: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/?p=6741198

btw, if you are entering on a K1, you won't be able to work until you have your employment authorization document (EAD) in hand, and that comes approximately 90 days after you marry and file for adjustment of status. so, it might be a while before you are able to start work.

Your fiance must provide the I-134. Is she doesn't work you can get your father in law to co-sponsor. As kittythecat said, you will not be bale to work right away, not legally

You need the I-134 for the K-1. Its an absolute requirement in most cases.

You can not work as soon as you get here because you are not authorized to work on a K-1.

After you enter, marry, and file for AOS, you can file for an EAD which will take about 90 days. With the EAD, you can legally work.

Your father-in-law needs to know that until you get your EAD, its illegal for him to hire you. In fact, you can not even volunteer to help him. That's the law and the limitation on your K-1 visa.

London allows self sponsorship.

Not sure, been a long time since I saw a number but $10,000 should do it.

don't forget to line up a joint sponsor for adjustment of status (AOS), if your fiance does not make enough to meet the poverty guidelines for her household size. maybe your future father in law as someone else suggested, as I don't think you can self-sponsor for AOS (please someone correct me if I'm wrong!).

No, you cannot. You are correct, and it was a good suggestion for them. Of course if he had enough in assets to meet the 3 times requirement, they might accept that on the wife's I-864.
