Ok. Stewart is very skinny, and since he's been here has lost even more weight. The problem is, he doesn't eat enough because he has class every night of the week after work.

He will take two ham sandwiches...and that's all he'll eat all day.

So I try to pack him more lunch so he'll eat more and then have a snack for his trip to school or even on his berak at school but he's soooo picky.

HELP!! I don't want my sweet husband to waste away!

* HE hates fruit

* He hates using microwaves

* Doesn't like sweets (Except apple pie and milky way bars)

WHat else can I do to put in his lunch. He'll take potato chips and that's about it.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Oooh some good ideas.

Ok he won't eat yogurt because he hates the consistancy. I LOVE the soup idea...that's a really good one. He wouldn't have to microwave it! Cheese and crackers MAYBE...I will ask about that one. Pizza is another good one.

He won't eat raw veggies but he will eat salad. That's a good idea - and get a good dressing for it he'd like!

These are all so good - keep 'em comin!

What about more hearty salads. Like tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad, waldorf salad? You can put them on sandwiches but it'll give you a lot more nutrition than just ham. I always bring cheese cubes to lunch. What about those meal replacement shakes? Hard boiled eggs, Wheat Thins, Triscuits (you can get them in all kinds of flavors now), Goldfish, olives, cherry tomatoes, tortilla chips + salsa (or queso)!

Okay, sorry for the random stream of consciousness, I was trying to think what I've brought for my lunch for the past few days! :P

Those are all such good ideas - he's just so picky. I suggested string cheese - he says he doesn't eat plain cheese. All those salads are awesome, but he won't eat mayonaise. Goldfish are GREAT! Who doesn't love goldfish?/ OH, yes....my husband..

Herein lays the reason he's so thin, and I'm so....not :blush:

My husband is pretty picky too - he's getting better though. Do you guys go shopping together? Maybe that would be a good way to get him interested and try other things. For Youssef he was "sure" he didn't like things but amazingly he's come around. If you went to the store and just spent some time looking around and seeing what might interest him it might help. Does he eat when he comes home at night? If so I would try to have things cooked or in the fridge and then they are there for him to try. If he doesn't like it - more for you ;)

How about cereal, breakfast or snack bars, if he likes apple pie give him one of those mini ones off the snack aisle, flavored pretzels... I am also a picky eater but not nearly that picky. I hope you can get him to try some new things-it's def. not good to allow yourself to be malnourished.

How about granola??

How about a good pasta salad??You can put all sorts in it and us a dressing instead of a mayo to bind it!?

I'll make a pasta salad on Sunday and by about wednesday it is really yummy from soaking up all the juices!

Put extra meat on the sandwiches...and I like the idea about using sub rolls!

How about quesadillas?

HAHA, that's so wrong!

I guess if you wanted to go this route you could buy those weight boosting shakes from GNC and sneak the powder into his food.

So wrong.

I recall one poster here was trying to secretly fatten her hubby up and I think she just put mayo on everything and snuck cheese into all his food.

Sadly I'm probably in the top % of picky eaters. I love seafood and chicken so that's good and I will eat red meat but only if it's in the form of hamburger or very lean steak (trimmed tenderloin or london broil). That's the good news. The bad news is I hate just about every veggie except lettuce (not iceberg because it's useless), carrots, or spinach (raw only).

One of my favorite stack foods is Beef Jerky but it's expensive. :( Sunflower seeds are good and shelling them gives you something to do. Another one is nuts - I only eat peanuts, cashews, or pistachios but others are good. All of those are easy and there's no worry of them spoiling.

Can you make extra portions of whatever you're cooking the night before and put it in a tupperware dish? Some things don't need to be microwaved. Grilled chicken goes well on a salad, and I don't mind eating it cold (but I guess your picky husband might). I think the soup thing sounds great. You could probably even do a beef stew or something really hearty. Does he like wraps? Maybe you can make him a wrap stuffed with lots of veggies, cheeses, and meats.

Chocolate covered almonds are actually fairly healthy and provide protein and dairy. Does he like pudding?

One thing I really like that is super easy to make is a southwestern salad. It has black beans, corn, cucumbers, and tomatoes. You add some chopped up cilantro, salt and pepper, and a little oil and vinegar and stir it all up. It tastes even better the next day and is meant to be eaten cold.

Good luck!
