Okay July filers, its that time for ROC filing! My date opens on July 18 and I will be sending everything to CSC on July 17. Here's what I've put together, basically what my cover letter says;

  1. Check for US$590 (I-751 filing fee, US$505 + Biometrics fee, $85)
  2. Completed and signed form I-751
  3. Copy of the front and back of my 2 year Form I – 551 (Alien Registration card)
  4. Copy of our driving licenses
  5. Copies of our joint Federal Tax Transcripts - 2012 and 2013
  6. Our current health insurance screen printout and a copy of EOB; Indicating me as the plan holder and my spouse as beneficiary
  7. Our past (08/2012 – 08/2013) health insurance screen printout and a copy of EOB: Indicating my spouse as the plan holder and me as a beneficiary
  8. Copy of our dueling Joint Tenancy Deed
  9. Copy of our 2012 Mortgage Statement
  10. Copy of our 2013 Mortgage Statement
  11. Copies of our 2014 Mortgage Statement
  12. Copy of our home insurance coverage summary
  13. Copies of our joint auto insurance cards and notice of policy changes
  14. Copies of our joint checking account statement – 01/2014 – 06/2014
  15. Copies of our joint checking account statement – 01/2013 – 05/2013
  16. Copies of our joint checking account statement – 06/2012 – 12/2012

So I'm freaking out a little... When we filed to change my husbands status to obtain a green card, we went through an immigration attorney and everything went very smoothly. At the end of the process, our attorney informed us we would have to file to remove the conditions in two years, but since it is such an easy form and an easy process, we could do it on our own with no problems. So two years later, here we are. We just sent the forms/packet in last week. My concern is that we didn't provide enough proof of legitimate marriage. I only included our child's birth certificate to show parentage, my new SS card to show I changed my last name to his, drivers licenses to show shared address, most current mortgage statement to show joint ownership, most current car loan statement to show joint ownership, and 2013 tax return to show joint filing. My attorney throughout our whole process previously kept telling us "You all will have no problem with any of this because you have a child together and basically don't need any other proof" (we had our son right before we filed to change his status for a green card). In reading through this thread and others, now I am a little nervous I didn't include things like showing beneficiary information for various things, more statements for our accounts, more tax returns from prior years, etc. I guess our attorney's words kept sticking in my mind that we didn't need a lot. I'm hoping if what I sent in isn't sufficient they would just request to see more (which I have plenty of) and/or do an interview. Am I correct in thinking they would do that and not just deny him? I've started to become extremely anxious that I may have just ruined this whole application.

Hi guys,

Just sent my package last Friday 07/11, it was received yesterday 07/14, but no NOA1 yet (of course). I sent with a Money Order and I dont think it was cashed yet.

Now, I had two questions: When you guys receive your NOA1, it's by mail as well? or do they email you that? I just realized the time frame between receiving I751 and NOA1 its very short (THANK GOD, right? lol) and I wanted to know how can I know if they cashed my Money Order? Should I call the visa center or USPS or there is a way to check online?

So I'm freaking out a little... When we filed to change my husbands status to obtain a green card, we went through an immigration attorney and everything went very smoothly. At the end of the process, our attorney informed us we would have to file to remove the conditions in two years, but since it is such an easy form and an easy process, we could do it on our own with no problems. So two years later, here we are. We just sent the forms/packet in last week. My concern is that we didn't provide enough proof of legitimate marriage. I only included our child's birth certificate to show parentage, my new SS card to show I changed my last name to his, drivers licenses to show shared address, most current mortgage statement to show joint ownership, most current car loan statement to show joint ownership, and 2013 tax return to show joint filing. My attorney throughout our whole process previously kept telling us "You all will have no problem with any of this because you have a child together and basically don't need any other proof" (we had our son right before we filed to change his status for a green card). In reading through this thread and others, now I am a little nervous I didn't include things like showing beneficiary information for various things, more statements for our accounts, more tax returns from prior years, etc. I guess our attorney's words kept sticking in my mind that we didn't need a lot. I'm hoping if what I sent in isn't sufficient they would just request to see more (which I have plenty of) and/or do an interview. Am I correct in thinking they would do that and not just deny him? I've started to become extremely anxious that I may have just ruined this whole application.

You sent in much more than we did, and I am willing to bet you will be fine :)

Seriously...the worst that could happen is they write you back to request more information. It isn't like they will cancel it right away, run to your home, mock you mercilessly, rip up your application in front of you and fling it in the air all the while making you pay a second application fee and fill the form out anew. If you get that letter requesting more information (which I am pretty sure you won't...you don't have any major red flags I would assume) then you simply send it in and all should be fine!

Just so you know, we already got our biometrics appointment and are just coasting to the finish. So far so good, and like I said: less proof than you sent in!

Well, I guess we are the first CA applicants to get their Biometrics appointment! Just got the letter yesterday (letter is dated 7/10/2014) with our appointment for Biometrics on the 7th of August. I know that some people have had luck with early appointments and all that, but the center we are assigned to is only 10 min from our house (which in LA is a huge luxury to have something so close!), and the date works well for both of our schedules...so we will just take the appointment :)
