Whoooh....This hurts. The truth is the VA has been in a terminal state of decline since the early '60's'. Vietnam Vets, the maimed, wounded, when they returned home and trustingly went to the VA for help they were unceremoniously got shown the door, it was a deliberate exclusionary policy. This, I believe, has been a deliberate policy to discredit and destroy the VA healthcare system. Think, who benefits ?

This administration has done almost nothing to make it better. Flatline funding, when we should improving infrastructure, and streamlining the bureaucracy. Rather than the Administration, Senate and House taking the blame for their failures, when the latest VA scandal broke out, who was instructed to fall on his sword ? General Shinseki, a highly decorated war Veteran, a Veterans Veteran. I get more than a little sick when the President rolls maimed MOH hero's in front of the media because I know the disconnect between what is said in public, and what is done in secret...

Lest I forget, Obama just sent $500 Million to the 'moderate' Syrian rebels for arms. I think that half billion should have gone more wisely spent at home..My .02

Rob187

word brother..

But the VA made Medical records available on line during Obama's tenure, it's all good. It floors me that every little action taken at teh VA they are quick to credit Obama. Veterans dying while being placed on secret lists that go in drawers. Whistle blowers being punished.. OMG Obama had nothing to do with this . It's laughable.

You are correct the VA issue has been going on a long time. every time there is a crisis, they put a band aid on it and drive on until the next crisis. I had VA until a few months ago. it was scary. Most of the people that helped me would not stand a prayer working in the private sector. If you are a doctor or nurse and can't cut it in the real world. The VA has a place for you. The VA, you may die from a hang nail, but by God we have diversity and we care if you someone touched your Pee Pee 20 years ago.

The answer, that people that usually agree with me will not like. Have 2 or 3 regional care centers that specialize in combat trauma and rehab. everybody else gets Tri-care or Obamacare.. Shut down the VA

Recently I sent this letter to my Senator:

Senator Mxxxxx,
For the past year I've been trying to bring my fiancee from the Philippines to the US on a K-1 visa. Unless you've been through the process of obtaining a legal visa for yourself or a loved one, the difficulty, cost, and frustration is impossible to imagine. Every shred of my life has been torn apart and examined under a microscope. By agreeing to submit to this legal visa examination, I have lost every freedom imaginable, and yes, I knew what I was giving up, in order to bring my fiancee to the States to marry. Thus far I have spent at least $xx,xxx and labored for six months on our visa paperwork. I/she has one more hoop to jump through, that is obtaining a Consular interview at the US Embassy in Manila. Well, at the moment the MNL Embassy are not accepting vetted K-1 applicants for interview, we have no idea when, or why the delay. I would fly my fiancee to The US on a tourist visa while we wait, or just for a brief visit, but the United States does not allow tourist visa's for Philippine citizens. To take a politically incorrect line, illegal immigrants are granted rights, they have not earned. For an American to be treated like a second class citizen, who is trying to do the right thing, fly's in the face of logic and morality. I don't adhere to any political philosophy, but that of common sense, Tom Paine got it right, 238 years ago; somewhere along the our historical timeline we have lost our way. Thanks for hearing me out.
Respectfully,

PS: everytime I've written this Senator I've received a detailed reply addressing the issues raised. The above letter was never answered obviously due to PC constraints

Your Fiance will not be able to vote for at least 3 years. By then both of you will have forgotten about the LEGAL immigration process. They have bigger plans. There's 20 million illegals they need to get legalized, registered, and voting Democrat.

First there are plenty of good doctors and nurses at the VA. The one's who make waves, because they care, are crushed or penalized for speaking out. Shutting down the VA is no solution. For one try to imagine the effect of 2,000,000 Veterans pouring into the private hospital system. I for one do not think waiting times are going to improve or the quality of the care. I respect your opinion, it's just my wooden nickel..

I'm against both parties stance on immigration. Why hasn't E-Verify been made mandatory? I don't see either side pushing for that. Why no crackdown on American business owners who knowingly employ illegal immigrants? Oh, that's right, who would do that work that American's don't want to do? Gee, how about if those who are able bodied and collecting unemployment or Welfare benefits had to do something in order to receive those benefits. Don't feel like picking lettuce? Then get another job, one more suited to your liking. Better yet, take a few classes.

And instead of amnesty, how about fixing the system for those of us who followed the process legally? Why no talk about that? There are several here who like to rant about undocumented Democrats, but I don't see the Republicans pushing for the examples I have given either.

i can assure you one thing, neither I or my fiancé will ever forget this 'legal' immigration process...As to illegal immigration, the irony getting rewarded for breaking our Country's laws is not lost on me....

Gawd, I wish I could 'ignore' his quoted material as well. <_<

Obama employs Chicago thug politics. Ever heard of Alice Palmer?

Ever heard of Jack Ryan?

...or Blair Hull?

Are you aware the preznit accepted foreign campaign contributions? In two different elections. With impunity.

Plenty more I can provide, but the point is: there's a pattern here. Ignore it if you relish your ignorance.

Now that's crazy talk.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/29/obamas.first.campaign/

Clinton has argued that the primary results of two of the nation's largest states should count because, otherwise, millions of voters are being disenfranchised. Obama has said he is willing to work out some compromise.

But he is insistent that the primary results are invalid because the two states failed to follow party rules and that the rules are the rules.

Someone let me know when does playing by the rules constitute thug tactics?

And I'm sorry my responses are hurting you. Maybe you should take a vacation. I hear the beaches of Ankara, Turkey are nice this time of year.

Granting immigration benefits to family members of USCs does little to expand your political base. The numbers are quite small compared to the numbers of illegal immigrants in this country. However, creating a program that will create many new citizens down the road in at once is a different matter.

Of course the Republicans want the flood of illegal immigrants to continue, but for different reasons. Their corporate masters love the cheap unregulated labor. Reagan pushed through an amnesty program and the result was increased illegal immigration. Obama instituted DACA, and guess what, all these illegal immigrant children are coming across the border in waves. So many, that they're having a hard time finding room to house them. Not only that, there's evidence of them being sexually abused or worse.

The got "gotcha" argument around here always seems to be "Well Bush or Reagan did it!!" BFD, a wrong policy is a wrong policy no matter who implements it. Doesn't matter if they have a D or an R after their name.

ETA: I've seen folks from the upper forums come here to P&R to complain about immigration policy and get ridiculed mercilessly because they were not part of the usual group that posts in this forum. That's probably why we don't see many of them.

Same here.

I don't know why I had to opt out of the VA to apply for coverage on the exchanges. Why not just give me a veterans credit and let me decide. I agree there are some good doctors at the VA. Blanket statements don't pan out, however there are a large number in the majority who would not cut it in the private sector. Admin,Nurses Doctors alike.

My dad was a doctor. Several of his classmates went to the VA after not being able to cut it in the private sector for various reasons .

Wrong policy is wrong policy. Some here criticize the Democrats as wanting to help the illegals in order to get votes, yet completely ignore the fact that the Republicans have their reasons for not clamping down either. Where's E-Verify? Are the Republicans fighting for that while the Dems beat them down? Ya, I didn't think so. Make E-verify and a few other things mandatory and there goes a big chunk of your problem. Go after the non matching SS#'s.

If you will re-read his post, he pretty clearly said . You did not really read his post did you.. You have been assimilated, you are one of me know .
