What you view as a 'given' in your ideology isn't necessarily a 'given' in others'. Surely you can explain why illegals so desperately need to be allowed to overrun the US. There is already a legal process for their admission.

Why would DHS and ICE be claiming “surprise” at the current influx of unaccompanied minors on the border in June, when they were taking bids for an exact contract to handle the exact situation in January? A portion of the request for bids:

[...] The Contractor shall provide unarmed escort staff, including management, supervision, manpower, training, certifications, licenses, drug testing, equipment, and supplies necessary to provide on-demand escort services for non-criminal/non-delinquent unaccompanied alien children ages infant to 17 years of age, seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year. Transport will be required for either category of UAC or individual juveniles, to include both male and female juveniles. There will be approximately 65,000 UAC in total: 25% local ground transport, 25% via ICE charter and 50% via commercial air.

Since his stance is to make all illegal aliens 'legal' in the USA, with a path to Citizenship - of course 2/3rds of USCitizens are against that.

or - at least - it makes sense to me that 2/3rds of USCitizens are against that.

I can see not kicking out children raised here, but no path to citizenship for people that came here illegally .Maybe some form of legal status

I cannot participate in this thread much, but I would like to throw this out there... if we brought home all our service members from Iraq and Afghanistan (where their efforts, though honest and valiant, are about as effective as pissing in the Sahara to try and turn it into the Garden of Eden) and put them on our Southern borders with orders to shoot if the line is crossed, we would be talking about Kim Kardashian instead of illegal immigration...

Lets say for a minute we put in dense landmines and have perfect check points and not only have a 1000 foot wall but one that goes 100 feet into the ground so no tunnels are possible.. We have a perfectly impenetrable border.

Now lets put ourselves in the smugglers shoes.. Making good money smuggling in and out people, drugs, guns, etc.. You pull out a map.. If it were me I would notice a few thousand miles of shoreline and look over to my friend and say "Lets buy some boats" or maybe they will learn to make perfect forged documents for airplanes and the checkpoints, or they will find a way into Canada and come down through that 2000+ mile mostly unguarded border... Or they will sneak them in on cargo ships.. In an average year almost 10,000 train sized crates fall off of super cargo ships in high waves and sink into the ocean - they are not tracked that well.

That's with ten seconds of thinking.. The smugglers are much smarter at it than you or I - Heck they still get people successfully sneaking in live monkeys through the airports..

We can't stop them completely from coming in without becoming a complete police state (England is an Island and yet many many Chinese somehow sneak in) - but we can make it untenable for them to be here. If they can't make money and then send it home the numbers sneaking in will fall to a point that it is not an issue.

While I sit here contemplating the AWESOME flavor of some Port Royal spiced rum with a dash of OJ and some pineapple Faygo, I think it is safe to say that the problem is NOT illegal immigrants. Or immigrants at all, for that matter. It's the demorats giving them tax breaks for having no legal status, kids, and whatnot. The people that don't enforce kicking out the illegals simply serve to multiply their numbers both internally and externally. It's a logarithmic equation of unknown proportions that will never be solved unless we start shipping people back. And by shipping, I mean kicking them outta the country. If they can't come up with the airfare to go to their original home, we can always airlift them 50 miles on the south of the lower Texas border as a repayment for all Mexico has done for us.
