Thank u guys! It really seems to me that they are speeding up approving cases the last days! So good news for all cases that are still open.

And: Referring to some other users it looks like it takes about 2 weeks for NVC to receive the case and another week for assigning case# and invoice in average...

Good luck to all of us!

Hello again guys. Congrats on the new approvals.

Just wanted to give a little update regarding what I have been finding out regarding our case. It has been almost 3 weeks since I received "Name Updated" case update from USCIS and still I have not seen our case getting approved. I also checked and noticed there were two cases with NOA1 from June 30, 2014 same as ours and these petitions received approvals on December 17, 2014. I am starting to get worried about our case. I am thinking of submitting a case inquiry. However on the USCIS website says not to submit case inquiry if I received a case update within past 60 days. I am wondering should I submit it anyways or will it make the USCIS mad? It just I don't understand why others with June 30, 2014 NOA1 received the approvals and we are still waiting.

Thank you!

we are not concerned with making USCIS mad, they will just need to deal. I would call the USCIS call center asking about the Name Updated status and initiate a request via my Senator today because we are past 5 months as stated. I would guess that your approval is very close, but I would throw up the flare with the Senator today.

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

Rob L,

Thank you for your response. I did contact USCIS about 1 week ago and spoke with tier 2 regarding this status update. Tier 2 told me that our case should be assigned to an immigration officer pretty soon and that they were confused regarding my wife having 2 last names, my wife is from Spain. Why is that the cases with June 30, 2014 NOA1 are already approved and ours is still showing this case update. I am currently out of the country and the only way I contact USCIS is through e-Request. I just don't want them to throw our case in the back of the pile because I am contacting them again regarding the same update.

Thank you

Sounds like you have it under control...

I am guessing that inquiring will not reset the clock as you were worried, but I don't know. If this was my case I would be calling everyone to make sure they have the correct information to resolve this.

Can you get Tier 2 to talk with you again?

Currently I can't call USCIS since I am out of the country. If I don't hear anything by the time I come back I will call them. I am pissed at myself because I hired a lawyer to do this. And this guy just took my money and shows no willingness to do his job. When I asked him to speak with USCIS he told that I have to do it and that if they tell us to wait we have to wait because its the government. Maybe by the time I come back to USA the approval will be waiting in my mailbox at home. I heard sometimes USCIS case status webpage is not accurate. Also do you know how accurate is VisaJourneys Processing Times that they list? I see that June 30 is currently being processed at Nebraska today. But it does not makes sense because its Christmas eve and I am sure they are closed.

Thank you!

I am sorry about your experience with the lawyer. You should not be having issues with names on forms if a qualified immigration attorney assisted you. Did you sign up for email and text notification? I assume you have checked your case status https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do. today. I think that is accurate within several hours of approval.

Can you use Skype or a low cost calling card to reach USCIS?

I would seriously consider filing a request for assistance form with your US Senator http://www.baldwin.senate.gov/help as a backup in case things are not running the correct course. The petitioner will need to fill out a privacy form.

The Processing times on Visa Journeys are just for guidance and the times posted on this thread show them to be plus or minus 4 weeks, nothing to the day.

On the other hand, you must be close and being anxious and ruining your time with your family over the holiday will not help. I got very anxious around Thanksgiving as it "just seemed right" that our petition would be approved by then. I felt better when I learned to uncouple the holiday as a milestone from this mindless bureaucratic process. That and a good bottle of Red Wine helped.

Oh and Feliz Navidad my friend.

Thank you a LOT for your feedback. I do check the case status page like 20 times a day but its been stating

"On December 2, 2014, we updated your name for your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number LINxxxxxxxx. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

for 3 weeks and one day now. I will start researching on how to contact our senator. Thanks again for your help and feedback. It just I know that I will not see my wife for who knows how long now and its very hard to be apart. If we received NOA2 I would be more relaxed. I am thinking of having my wife come visit me in March in the US. I read on the forums regarding visiting US while CR1 visa process is pending and it seems like it shouldn't be a problem for her to visit me. She just needs to prove that she will return one her visitor visa expires.

Merry Christmas to you as well!

Hello again everyone and Merry Christmas to all of you!

Sorry to bother you on this day. I was thinking about what could be causing our i-130 petition still not being approved and I forgot to mention that in August of 2014 I submitted a change of address to USCIS since I had moved to another address. Do you think change of address has to do anything with the delay of our petition approval?

Thank you!

Good day all!

I was just about to call USCIS...and then I received notice via email a few minutes ago! Approved! The reason for the scheduled call- I called USCIS and submitted a status inquiry 3 weeks ago. (6 months since NOA1) I was informed that I would receive mail within a month stating exactly when I should expect to hear of progress. The letter stated..."Unfortunately, we are not able to give you a definite time frame for your case..." Oddly enough...only had to wait a few more days. :)
