The Australian Consulate says that it can take 1-3 days to place the stamp in the passport. We leave a self-addressed Express Post envelope with them, and they mail it to us via Australia Post. This can take 3-5 days. Our interview is on a Tuesday (July 1st). I think we'll get her passport back on Monday or Tuesday of the next week. So yes - sounds like about the same timeframe as Poland.

If think if I had to make a choice of taking my vacation days to go to the interview, or taking days off when my spouse arrived in the US, I, personally, would choose the latter, if you have confidence in your wife's being able to present well. Your wife will have some mild jet lag when she arrives in the US, and might appreciate having one or two days to get used to the new time zone, but then I'm sure she'd like some time with YOU!

Just my opinion...

Sukie in Oz

I am going to the interview and spoke with my employer about additional time off, a life changing event like this only comes around once and taking time off with no pay is worth it to me, I don't want to leave anything up to chance after such a long preparation I want to handle any objections right then and there IF there are any objections, which I am not anticipating. I am also bringing with me copies of everything that has been submitted PLUS additional information and evidence of our relationship, financial evidence, photos, correspondence, communication, support etc etc. LIke someone else said better to over prepare and not add any additional time IF they have any questions. My wife has gone to two previous interviews for tourist visas ( in 20012) and was denied- she feels better having me there with her so I am going... I think it is a personal choice it is NOT necessary to attend but cant help but imagine that it makes a statement about the applicant and the petitioner.

Nope. August will start end of this coming week. Maybe Thursday or Friday.

Make sure you verify that you for real have Case Complete and they didn't screw it up expecting documents now.

I think the confusion is you said you had case complete earlier in the thread May 18. But you filled out the case Complete form and posted June 18.

So which is correct? If you had May 18 you would have had a date until you are a F2A category. Which makes all the difference.
