Here is a great American citizen doing the right thing by stopping a violent criminal. He should be given an award. We will never know how many innocent people this thug would have killed if he got away. Better he is dead.

Pretty sure that you missed the points that have been made in this thread. I agree that this situation ended well all things considered but the fact is that the possibilities were endless for things that could have gone wrong.

I don't think anyone here is suggesting that they love robbers. The connection between "loving" a robber and being ok with civilians firing at them was made exclusively by the poster in an attempt to demean anything in opposition to his point of view. So yeah, its still malicious unless someone specifically said they love robbers.

I think the open discussion of what is and isn't good for the forum, is healthy and a glad you are doing it. That having been said, I see the comment as maybe a little sarcastic, but hardly rising to the point where i would need editing or having any action needing to be taken

As to giving the civilian award for ridding us from thugs, it may have escaped your notice, it probably has, that the US stands behind innocent until proved guilty. We do not execute citizens for future crimes that they may commit if... This may be something you find sad, but it's none the less true and in keeping with the US following, up to a point' human rights protocols.
