Yes you can apply for a tourist visa but don't expect a high chance of approval because your immigrant intent is already strong.

According to Huffington Post, Obama will use executive power to pass an immigration bill by the end of summer.

I dunno how this will impact our cases but there is a great deal of chance that F2A will no longer be subject to visa quotas but will be processed like Immediate relative which means no waiting for visa availability.

That's complete speculation; I very much doubt he would do anything so unilateral, or even whether it's within his executive powers to do so.

your speculation is out of this world! What you are suggesting is not even possible!!!!

Well guess what, he already asked DHS and some other government bodies to give him suggestions about a possible immigration bill. The situation at the US-Mexico border is getting out of control witn a massive inflow of children. This is only posssible because of a lack of a budget to enforce border security and this can only can happen as part of an overhaul of the curren broken immigration system. Call it speculation if you want but I strongly believe Obama will pass his immigration bill by year end. Wait and see!

that's the part that's out of this world! no way!!

There is no chance of any kind of immigration bill passing the House anytime soon, certainly not this year and probably not next year either.

We'll see what exact form the President's executive action will take.

I have no idea where you pulled the stuff about F2A. Probably the same place I visit a few times every day, usually after coffee.

Look If you do not agree about what people are saying or suggesting in this thread there is one thing you can do and spare us your negative and sometimes disrespectful comments, is to simply ignore this conversation or go somewhere else! I have no desire whatsoever to continue responding to you after this so please have the courtesy to do the same. I am not convinced you are here for the same reason as we all do so please leave!

Like I tell my kids: sometimes happens and you just have to deal with it.

My apologies for not being able to deal with your unsubstantiated nonsense in silence, but when people post dumb stuff they really should get called on it.

You clearly do not understand how the American political system works and are adding nothing of value to this conversation besides your personal wish list. I guess while we're at it, I'd like a pony and a million dollars too. Oh, and more wishes.

Your tourist visa which is non immigrant visa will be 99.99% rejected because you have already shown the intent of immigration. Once, a petition for immigration visa has been filed, you won't get a non immigrant visa. This was told to me by one of the immigration consultants.

Thanks for the info love my wife.

@hopeful2014

If you did not have ur IV interview yet, I say go for the tourist visa. I went for it in January right before my NVC stage, I was granted one. Of course I was totally honest and told the truth. The CO did not even ask me if my spouse was LPR or US ditizen, but i did folunteer in info. The CO was quite taken by my honesty and he wanted to know if I was coming back and I answered yes, of course. He noted down my answer on the comp.

but I did not get a chance to use that b1/b2 visa yet because of family reasons.

BTW, whatever you answer the CO, your intent must match with it. If the CO writes your answers down, it's as good as you signed an affidavit. If you decide to visit US and not comeback and eventually AOS somehow, it's gonna be not good at all. So think carefully.
