It's not going to be the petitioner's civil documents, it's the beneficiary's. You can read more about the process here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Thank u so much for quick reply guys..I already sent the AOS last week but didn't send the civil documents yet. So that means I need to submit my civil documents as petitioner along with my wife's documents as the beneficiary is that right? I just want to make sure I'm doing right..

I can't find anywhere that sending in the Petitioner's passport or birth certificate is required for the IV Package. Can anyone clear this up?

You do not need to send ANY petitioner documents in the IV package to the NVC. None. Zero. Zip.

REQUIRED for spousal visa:

Beneficiary ONLY:

Photocopy of bio data page of passport

birth certificate

marriage certificate

divorce certificate (if applicable)

Police certificate

court records (if applicable)

military records (if applicable)

2 US passport sized photos as per NVC website. (These will be used for your visa and your green card FYI)

Send originals or certified copies (copies issued by the original issuer) plus a photocopy.

The petitioner sends the I-864(EZ if used), tax documents, and proof of current employement in the AOS package.

If you choose to send more relationship evidence, send it with the IV (immigrant visa) package with the IV supporting documents.

You do not need the ones in red EVER for a spousal visa.

This is incorrect. Nothing of the petitioner is needed or required. The IV package is about the Beneficiary only. Send only what is pertaining to the Beneficiary.

Thank you. That is what I thought and some posts were misleading.

Another question. Tried to get police certificate from the town where my wife was born and lived there for most of her life but they said they won't issue a certificate coz she doesn't have a residence there even though her famy still lives there. What should she do now? Help please.
