I went to the US Embassy at 5:30 in the morning and when I got there the line was already long. The guards started letting the people in with interview scheduled at 6:15,when you get past the guard, there will be a tent with attendants and they’ll ask you for the first page of the interview letter and your passport (without covers) then they’ll give you the 2Go form and they’ll put your passport in a ziplock. Next is they’ll tell you to go to Door 2 where there will be a security check (foods and drinks are not allowed inside), after that is you go and get your stub number then enter the door that’s for immigrants, there will be another security check, next is they’ll tell you to drop your interview letter at Window 39, in my case a lady got my interview letter and she was the one to put it in Window 39.
Then the waiting begins…
You’ll be asked to sit down and watch for your number to flash on the screen, the screen will show the stub number and the window you’re supposed to go. In my case, I waited for an hour and a half for my number to flash on the screen, I was called for finger printing at Window 42 (there were two windows for finger printing that time 42 and 43, both with American guys in charged to do it). He asked me for my name and my birthday, then he asked me to put my right fingers (except the thumb) on the scanning machine on the window, then my left fingers and lastly, my right and left thumbs together. I was asked to go back to my sit and wait for my number to be called again.
After about an hour…
My number flashed again and this time I was called at Window 57, it was for the initial interview with the Filipino consul. The consul verified my stub number, then he asked me the following questions while he was also typing at the computer:
1.What is your name?
2.When is your birthday?
3.Do you have kids?
4.Are you pregnant?
5.What is the name of your spouse?
6.Where did you meet?
7.Does he have kids?
8.Have you traveled abroad?
He also asked me if I have photos of me and the petitioner when he was here in the Philippines, I said “Yes, do you wanna see it?” then replied “No, just prepare it for the American consul”.
The question and answer portion lasted for about 5 minutes, then he asked me to go back to my seat and wait for my number to be called again.
At last I’m waiting for my final interview, this time I didn’t wait too long, I think it only took about 15 minutes after my interview with the Filipino consul then I was called at Window 66 with an American consul. We greeted each other, and then he asked me to raise my right hand and read the oath posted on the right side of the window. After I was done reading, he asked me for my CEMAR which I gave him, he checked it and returned it back. He then asked me these questions:
1.What is the name of the petitioner?
2.When was the last time you saw him?
3.Have you traveled abroad?
4.How many months?
After all of that, he gave me the information booklet about VAWA and said “Congratulations, just wait for your number to be called at either Window 72 or 73 for the courier”.
Finally about 20 minutes I was called at Window 72, the guy said my documents were okay and told me to drop my 2Go for at Window 69 then I can leave!
