Sorry! I'm sure this is a repeat question, that's asked frequently, but I see so much different information and I want to be sure I'm doing things right.

We're about to send out or AOS/EAD packet to Chicago for K1 and K2.

Does anything in the supporting materials for any of the forms - i-485, i-864, etc, etc, need to be an original document, or can it all be photocopies?

I've seen info about the Marriage certificate being a certified copy, or else there might be an RFE. Does this mean the actual certified copy we received when we got married, or can i make a color copy of the marriage certificate?

I have my wife's original birth certificate, with the original certified translation from Kiev. Can I make a copy of the certified translation and send that, or do I send what she brought with her?

I've seen people that say one thing, or the other, and it's gotten confusing. Also, I've seen where we need to have all of the originals for if we have an interview, so don't want to send anything out that I need later.

Thanks!!!

Hi the Marriage, birth certificates, passports, can be normal photo copy's, also things like W2s, payslips, can as well. As you will be taking any original documents to your interview & the IO can then see them if he/she wants to.

This is not the first time I have seen you post a link to the wrong guide. Please stop posting that link and instructing people to follow it, if that is not the correct guide for their case. This forum is for those adjusting from a family based visa, such as a K visa. Those adjusting from a K-1 visa, such as the OP, do not follow that guide. The correct guide for someone adjusting from a K-1 is this > http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos
