No problem going more than one week before the interview.. It will still be perfectly valid.

The only drawbacks are as follows:

1. THe six mnths you have to enter the United Sates starts on the day of the medical. If you were planning to enter the United States before this pont anyway, then you have no problem with this.

2. The one year that you have to file AOS without having to do a new medical in the US starts on the date of your medical here. Once more if you were planning to do that sooner anyway,, no problem.

So go do your medical.

It says "at least" 1 week. That means you'll be fine even if you have it 1 week or even 1 month before your interview. But as what everyone else have said, your AOS and visa validity are tied with your medical. If you take it too soon and something delays your visa approval then you might have to re-do your medical.

Still you are left with more than enough time. Assuming you do your medical one month before your interfiew and get your visa in hand one month after your interview, you still have four months to board the plane for the US. ANd if you push the travel date to the limit, you stil have 6 months left to apply for your AOS which is actually too much as it would put you out of status.

So that liimit is more academinc than it is anything else and not really anything to worry about.

The bottom line: If you are already in Manila, go do your medical. Don't wait.

I also had my medical done a month before my scheduled interview. This is not uncommon. So you will really have no issues. As mentioned above, just keep in mind that your visa validity will be tied with this date, that is "date of medical + 6months." Normally, this is never a concern because most people would want to be with their fiance asap.

All the best!
