Hi Niraj,

So sorry to break it to you but there is definitely going to be a retrogression sometime from June-August . We just don't know how far back it may go. This is the note at the end of the Bulletin pertaining to F2A numbers.

D. VISA AVAILABILITY DURING THE COMING MONTHS

WORLDWIDE F2A: From early 2013 through September 2013, the level of demand for numbers in this preference category was extremely low. As a result, the F2A cut-off date was advanced at a very rapid pace, in an attempt to generate demand so that the annual numerical limit could be fully utilized. As readers of the Visa Bulletin were advised during that time, such cut-off date advances were not expected to continue, and at some point they could stop, or retrogression might be required.

The level of demand being experienced for FY-2014 has resulted in the Worldwide F2A cut-off date being held since October. Despite no forward movement of the cut-off date, the level of demand has continued to increase dramatically. At the current rate, such demand will require a retrogression of the F2A cut-off date within the next several months. That action would be necessary to hold number use within the annual numerical limit.

MEXICO F2A: Despite an earlier retrogression of this cut-off date, the level of demand remains extremely heavy. As a result, it is likely that another retrogression of this cut-off date will be required to hold number use within the annual numerical limit.

if it retrogresses in the second half of the year, i wouldn't expect a lot movement during 2014.

Does anybody know how they calculate demand. i.e. the reason for retrogression was high demand. do you they mean new applicants after Sep 8, 2013? if so why retrogression is needed? if they mean people applied prior to Sept 8, 2013 than why to retrogress only now, most of the people already got visas.

What I was saying is that that the visa bulletin will retrogress in either June, July or August. We are just not sure which one of those 3 months it may be. We just have to watch the visa bulletin to see. The Visa Bulletin won't move forward again until October when the new fiscal year begin. Right now I am seriously just praying that my hubby get his Citizenship when he applies in June bcuz this Visa Bulletin is very hard to predict. We just don't know how fast it may progress when it starts moving forward in Oct. I am just sick of being away from my hubby now, July will make it 5 years we are now apart it sucks really bad. The US government should at least make visa number immediate available to spouses and children under 21 of permanent residents too (I guess being a permanent resident is second class so they have to endure being away from the spouse & children as long as the government wants them to smdh).

Hey hun,

My hubby and I have been apart for 5 years this July coming. He immigrated in July 2009 and we have been together since Jan 2006. I really doubt my case will move forward in 5 months with this retrogression coming. Waiting on the visa bulletin I don't think my pd date will be current until sometime next year. Only way I will be able to move forward in 5-6 months is if my hubby get through with his Citizenship. I am just praying he does as this immigration process is starting to take a toll on me emotionally and I just want it to be over. All the best along your journey, pray for me and I will pray for you:-)

Please read her timeline. Even though they are five years apart, her PD is Dec 02, 2013. Being apart is hard and I feel sorry that you guys had to endure this for five years. I pray for your husband's citizenship to come soon. Good Luck
