Unfortunilly yes you can still get RFE but they not longer will reject you forms .

1 in adjust of status cases uscis reject ( send back forms ) before the biometrics . Usually for reasons like missIng signature or wrong fees .

2 uscis will only denied or accept your case after the first review step.

3. Having your biometrics is for uscis to know your biometric info and any criminal records or warrants that you might have.

4 yes yo can feel better knowing that you case is progressing but in this stage is the most crucial step for uscis and most rfe are send at this point .

5 good luck and don't worry about rfe good luck to you . :)

San Jose office walk-in successful! I arrived about 11.20am, parked my car and made my way through the TSA-like security screen. Everyone I spoke to (the guards, the receptionist, the person taking your appointment details) all asked why I didn't I wake for my appointment date. I just said I had another appointment scheduled on that very same date (which is true) which I can't move out, and thought I'd try walk-in for my biometrics.

There wasn't any crowd. the receptionist told me to fill up a form. When I handed it back, someone from the room called up for No.96 (next in line), and she had to wait a little, while the receptionist cross check my form, little did I know, it was my turn right away!. so I was in, and out of the building roughly 10 minutes. i guess I was lucky. The staff was pleasant and polite

Frankly, I was all ready to wait for couple of hours, even brought a book to read...
