Deported for an Agravated felony but we think he is a US Citizen? What to do next?

Congratulations. I hope he can turn his life around.

Was he represented by a lawyer at his criminal trial or immigration court? If he was, he should make a complaint about that lawyer (Although I do not know the circumstances - perhaps your cousin was not helpful to the lawyer, or the sharpest tool in the box). It seems negligent to fail to notice you have a potential US citizen undergoing deportation proceeding. Certainly not the fault of the government.

He did not have an immigration attorney, only a public defender and Im sure in their conversations they never touched the Immigration subject. I do know that my cousin told me that after finishing his sentence they took him into ICE custody and he wanted to be free as soon as possible. He has a lot of plans for the future, plans which don't include his "Gang Buddies". Thank you.

Thank you for your wishes . Even he thinks its good that things happened the way they did, he learned to be more appreciative of his Country and the laws .

Congratulations are in order. It's good to hear the Government was able to overlook your cousin's and his parent's screw up.

Wow, I suppose it just goes to show how far one must push to assert one's rights with the USCIS. You get the short end of the stick if you don't. He must be thrilled.

Yes he is and ill tell you one thing he is very grateful for what he once had , he said this experience has definitely enlightened him and because of what he went through he is looking forward to becoming a better man and contributing member of society ! So in the long run it was good that all of this happened, it made him want to change .
