some thoughts on binge checking CEAC...while I am still able to think independently...

Through a process of forced assimilation to achieve immigration perfection,

We are loosing our soul to the CEAC hive

NVC - National Visa Collective

CEAC - Compulsive Excessive Altered Consciousness

You will be assimilated into CEAC…resistance is futile.....

Most underrated NVC most ever.

YOU ROCK !

Anyone else hear this ridiculousness. Just got off the phone with an extremely rude NVC operator asking why my AOS fee still says in process and he claims you absolutely have to use internet explorer if not it will never process and if the money was pulled out of the account you have to send a copy of your bank statement to the nvcinquiry email showing that it was pulled out.

I'm i the only one this happened to?

Although I knew IE was recommended from other people, my husband used Google Chrome for paying both fees(AOS and IV), but there was no problem. Our IV fee took two days to be "PAID". AOS took a bit longer than that.

So just got off the phone with another operator. I guess some cases are having issues with the payment portal and that she is putting a note on our case to have a supervisor look at it. She said I'm more than welcome to send in the AOS packet by mail so they can review it.

What do I do? Do I wait for it to get straightened out and continue with electronic processing. Or do I do everything by snail mail :(

Somebody help me!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I've paid the AOS fee and am waiting for it to be displayed as 'Paid' in the portal, meanwhile I wanted to prepare for my Immigrant visa packet and wondered if I should fill in DS-230 or do the online DS-260.

The AOS fee receipt I got says that only the case numbers beginning with AMM, ATH, BGH, LMA, MEP, or MTL are eligible for filling in the DS-260 online the rest of the folks need to send it the filled DS-230 by post. Its confusing because my local consulate (Mumbai, India) website advises folks to fill DS-260 for immigrant visas and the AOS fee receipt says something different.

Guys pls advise.

You have to do online DS-260. They won't accept paper DS-230 anymore. You will get access to fill out DS-260 on the CEAC portal right after your IV payment shows "PAID"..That instruction on the AOS receipt might be an old one that they didn't change yet. Just disregard that instruction!!

Saylin, could you please add me to the spreadsheet?

I-130 Sent : 2013-06-06 I-130 NOA1 : 2013-06-13 I-130 RFE : I-130 RFE Sent : I-130 Approved : 2014-03-10

As I'm waiting for my case number etc. I'm trying to get together my documents. One question: I do not need a police certificate for the US, even if I have lived there before, right? At least that's what I gather from my search on the forums here.

Thanks!

Quick question for everyone here, I got my Case #/IIN#/BID# on Tuesday, at which point my fee's (AOS and IV) were available online to pay, both of with I paid on the spot.

I have never seen any request or link to fill out a DS-261 Choice of Agent form. I have already filled out G-28, "Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Accredited Representative" which I sent to USCIS when I submitted my I-130 application. When the NVC sent me my case number information, they also sent it directly to my lawyer. Does that mean I do not need to fill out a DS-261?

Please advise, thanks!

Matt - I used Google Chrome to log in and pay my fees, and I didn't run into any problems or errors. It says "In Process" and I see both "ACH DEBIT" posted on my online bank account.

I hope no issues arise from this but so far its looking OK

Another question:

A lot of the timelines I am seeing in the signatures show AOS Bill and IV Bill being available on different dates, why is that?

Mine were both available immediately, at the same time and I paid them right away.

Case number was assigned on 3/13/14 and then both IV Bill ($230) and AOS Bill ($88) were available to pay right away. I paid them both and see the funds withdrawn from my account...

This is NORMAL? Are these the only two fee's to pay or are there more to come?

For example from user "ys123":

03/01/14- Paid AOS fee

03/04/14- AOS fee shows PAID

03/07/14- AOS package sent from Australia

03/17/14- AOS package was delivered to NVC

03/14/14- IV bill issued by email

03/17/14- IV bill available to pay online - paid

Hey there! We also have a K3 which is already at the consulate. In fact the consulate is already waiting for my response for more than three weeks as we are still in the process of receiving a case number for the I-130. Our lawyers advised us strongly not to pursue the K3 visa as it's a another risk (for the AOS the government has more rights and data at hands to tell you "no" and the appeal process is very shady) and more money, while the whole process is soo close. Plus you have to wait at least three months on your work permit.

We decided to wait, but we have no idea if it's the right decision smile.png

We definitely don't care about the work permit.. and we don't care about the cost of adjusting. K3 is the same as a K1 except you are already married. It was designed to speed up the process ( even though the process has changed over the years) Why would they say NO for a K-3? and not for the I-130? We have a waiver to file so we would prefer to bypass this NVC BS. If we go for an interview for K-3 or I-130 we will get the same result , we still need to submit the waiver before he can come home. So for us, the K-3 makes sense. If we didn't need the waiver, I'd go for the I-130 because the interview is the end of the road.
