Need some help to understand the process.

I got my NOA1 on 09/20/2013 and today I received a case Status information​n via email that stating

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On February 27, 2014, we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.


During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

My question are..

1. Is this usual?

2. What are approximate time line to receive NOA 2?

1 yes, it's normal.

2 Still don't know when you'll get your NOA2. But lately people have been approved within a month of being transferred.

All depends where you were transferred. To NSC good luck nothing is coming out of there. CSC a bit better a few months to a few weeks. TSC is slow also a few months. No one knows. I know people transferred to the service centers since November and still nothing. Sorry

2. What are approximate time line to receive NOA 2? APPROVAL FOR NOA2 MAY TAKE 3-6 MONTHS. IF COMPLICATION RISES, IT CAN GO EVEN BEYOND THAT. YOU ARE GETTING CLOSER :-)

I filed for the I-130 in September too (Priority Date: 16/9/2013). What is your Priority Date?

It transferred to Vermont service center!! I don't see too much activity from this particular center on this forum which making me little nervous about it. Other question is after transferring to a new service center am I getting a new time clock (5 months per official web) or the priority date still count?

I would count five months from this date. It looks like USCIS is back to sending cases to Service Centers now? I know last year everything went to the NBC
