Hello All,

So USCIS was 1st time lightning fast... :dancing:

I received notification of my oath schedule on Monday, got the letter today and the date is scheduled for next tuesday....all in 1 week.....

many thanks to all for the help..will update how my oath went...

though , i have a question, my oath is on December 9th and i will be travelling outside the country on Dec 13th for 3 weeks..

I was thinking to use my India passport and Greencard for travel but i suppose all these documents will be surrendered to USCIS at the oath ceremony..

question is - do we get a interim travel document at the oath ceremony while we apply and wait for US passport?

You must enter and exit the U.S. on your U.S. passport once you become a citizen. Your greencard will be taken away.

Furthermore, because you are Indian, and India has limits on dual nationality, you will need to apply for extra paperwork if you want to visit India, since your Indian passport may be invalidated the moment you become an American.

There are no interim travel doxuments; you have to get a passport.

If you can't get a passport in time, you need to either postpone your travel or postpone your oath of citizenship.

Because of the timing, you need to make an appointment at your nearest passport agency (not a passport application acceptance facility like a post office) as soon as possible. If you show them proof of travel they can mail you the passport without 48 hours or even give it to you on the same day.

yup this Saturday it's officially 2 months (60 days) after the interview date, and still no word from USCIS. i know they are not even looking at my file. haven't called them yet coz i know they gonna say oh it hasn't been 90 days. IO said you're most likely hear back from us in a month but it has been 2. waiting continues...

Hi JimmyHou, your comment was very helpful and timely, i was able to book a slot in my closest passport agency on time.

I had two options but since i dont know how long the oath will take i booked the appointment for the following day.

Let's hope they will be able to process the passport on time.

Due to recent change, Indian visa can be done via online Visa on arrival..

i will also give a shot to get passport agency appointment on same oath day if possible...

so i called the USCIS on Wednesday. Bitched a bit, like I had my interview on October 6th, was given an RFE but responded that the same day. and it's more than 2 months now still nothing....She was kind enough to put a service request on my case.

Now it's saturday evening, I just got an update saying

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On December 13, 2014, the supervisor review of your case, Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION...bla bla We will mail you a notice once a final decision has been made.

so what is this means, man I am a bit worried now, it doesn't look like an approval (or denial) but what is this. Did everybody get this then a decision in the mail?

ALSO:

it seems like supervisor reviewed my case in exactly 1 business day.

I can't tell if the letter said that your case was under supervisor review or if it has already been reviewed by a supervisor.

I can't tell if the letter said that your case was under supervisor review or if it has already been reviewed by a supervisor.

Oh yea it actually says

On December 13, 2014, the supervisor review of your case, Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number XXXX, was completed.

that's why I said it took him/her one day to review the case. That quick huh I guess calling really helps

I have sent my application in April and have completed finger printing in May. However, I am still in line for interview under Atlanta field office. I have called Friday to inquire about my case, and the IO told me that my case was held at the main office in Missouri and have not sent it to Atlanta yet. She also told me I would expect a letter within 7 days explaining why my case is still in Missouri!!!! Is there anyone else is still waiting under Atlanta processing time? Thank you

Last week an applicant from Houston posted that he was told the exact same thing about Missouri. Sounds like a backlog at a central processing facility.
