Hi,

I live in the states on F2 visa (wife of an international student).

I would like to invite my mother and my sister from Iran to US for a visit. My father is dead.

My mom is retired. Both my mom and sister own their house.

My sister is a student in a top university in Iran.

I would like to know what are the chances they both can get visas. Do they have substantial ties?

Thanks

You cannot invite someone to visit. They have to apply for a visitor visa and be approved on their OWN merits. They must prove they have strong ties to Iran insuring they will return. Nothing you do,or say to USCIS or the embassy will get them a visa, they have to do it 100% on their own.

The only thing that is certain is their chances if they do not apply.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

In my experience of talking to Persians about visas, women seem to have a much higher chance of approval on visitor visas than men -- but, as everyone said above, they have to prove strong ties to Iran and that they will return.

Owning homes, being enrolled in university are all pluses... They can apply (nothing you can do, it is on them) and be sure to highlight all the reasons they must return.. Good luck
