Hey all,

I applied for I-485, I-130 and I-765 on November 25th. Having gone for Biometric screening, I received my EAD card in early January. I just sent in an I-131 application for AP this week and happened to check my case status. For I-485, I am in the Testing and Interview phase. For I-130, I am in Initial Review. However, despite having received the EAD, for I-765 it now says that I am in Initial Review:

"On January 28, 2014, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent."

Has anybody had something like this occur? I'll call in the morning, but I'm slightly worried now!

Yes, we had issues with the USPS returning items addressed to my wife. She was not on the card in the mail box at the apartment complex. I suggest you go to your local postoffice and complete a card for who is to get mail at your address. Then call the USCIS to have the item resent. Only the person who is on the petition can request this or they must give their consent to have the spouse be their personal representative. This seems to be more of a problem at apartment complexes and when the wife keeps her maiden name, but it really depends on the letter carrier. For us it was the substitute carrier that was returning the mail addressed to my wife.

Good luck,

Dave

Hey, thanks for the reply. I actually have received the card though. It's weird that my status has gone from "Production", the last step, to this a month after I received the card in the mail.

Advance Parole is granted on a combo card with the EAD so they likely just used that update for whatever internal processing they need to do to reissue the EAD card as a combo card but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask to talk to a tier 2 human about it.

It's nothing to worry about. Many cases go back to initial review after they are approved. The online system is not reliable, nor is it actually attached to your case. It's a secondary system prone to error.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Harpa is right. I received an email and text to say my EAD card was in production, a few days later I received an email and text to say it had been mailed out to me and included its tracking number, then when I checked on USCIS site it had jumped back to "initial review" even though they had posted EAD and I had the tacking number in my hands LOL... nothing for you to worry about, I think its pretty common.
