Is China considered a "High risk" country?

Hello, my lady is Chinese. Is this one of the so-called high risk countries for visa fraud? I am asking because I am wondering how long we should wait before applying for a K1. We have already spent 3 weeks together but our total relationship is about two months long. My feeling is that I should wait awhile before applying. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

Thank you.

US men are marrying foreign women every single day that they met online and visited once. The only requirement for K1 is to have met face to face at least once in the past two years and be free to marry. Your situation is not unique and there is no requirement that you even love each other. No one can tell you how to make the best choice for yourself. If you don't know, then no-one does.

I would wait. Write each other. Keep the cards and letters. Use a phone that you can get records on a hard paper from even if it is a bit more expensive. If you use Yahoo Msgr keep a print out on occasion. Send her a card once in a while. (keep a record of these things as proof if needed later.)... If you met a woman in the states would you decide to marry after knowing her for 8 weeks ? I doubt it. Use this time to get to know this woman. When you write discuss things of importance.

You may want to watch this video before you consider your next step:

Ha ha, thanks for the video. I don't see any problems there, pretty much what I already knew. I would not consider marrying someone I did not love, that would be stupid. We met and after spending three weeks together 24 hours a day, I don't think developing feelings of love for someone is unusual if we are very compatible. I already know what I want to do, I just don't want there to be problems due to the length of our relationship. Sometimes it happens... people meet, they fall in love quickly wub.png

If I met this woman in the US and we were together every day, I would feel the same. I think sometimes you just know.

By the way, I like your signature. Leftists are destroying this nation.

Not really high risk but very difficult. Read up on the regional forum.

A&B I see, according to your signature, you did just what I am thinking about doing. It took 226 days? That does not seem too bad. I posted in the regional forum to see if there are any issues particular to China that I do not know about.

Thanks for the help everyone!

I wouldn't say China is very difficult. Most of the folks i see post in the China forums have very few problems.

Oh, and as far as waiting. I wouldn't wait for K1 purposes....I'd simply wait to get to know this person better. Two months simply isn't enough...IMO.

Good Luck!

Just do it.

I didn't know my fiancee that long when we started the process.

6 months later we speak every single morning and night on Skype. She just got her packet from the Guangzhou consulate and we made a small change and are waiting for a reply from them but then she will schedule her interview.

She's shopping wedding dresses now..

We really haven't had a single problem..though as i said our interview has not actually occurred yet.

What we have done is used the 6 months time to make sure we keep showing all this ongoing contact. We speak on Skype like I said and mostly w video that is no-varifieable so we make sure to send emails relatively often too even though they are kind of BS since we talk about everything face to face. Still they are a constant back and forth. printable form of evidence. We also send each other cards with silly little love notes so we have these. She goes on QQ duly and there is a great group on there for women (and a few gay guys) to advise each other on the process and we have learned a lot of valuable info. I really didn't need to waste all the money i dropped on a lawyer for this. Her QQ friends have been for more helpful overall and occasionally provide us with some comical drama that both gives us a lugh and also makes us feel better when we are stressing because seriously… If these some of these people are getting accepted we hardly need to worry!! Just use the time in process to continue to generate maximum evidence. You don't really need to worry about how much evidence or time you have NOW.. Its how much you have BEFORE YOUR INTERVIEW that counts.

As for Chinese girls and how much time is enough… When you know its right.. you know.. I knew,. I had other Chinese girl friends before and I lost the one I should have married after losing my job and losing my ability to go back and forth to China several years ago. Now I have met another girl who I clicked with in this amazing way and Im head over heels for her and I wasn't going to let her get away. LOL.. Im lucky to even have a second chance to have what i thought was lost and I didn't want to wait another year before even starting a potential year long process to have a life here, together. So I feel ya man. There are some manipulative materialistic beeyatches in China. you have to watch yourself, but there are some amazing, good hearted, beautiful girls there too and they will treat you so well and fall so hard for the guy who treats them right.

Good luck and don't let the long process scare you.. Just do lots of Skype.. keep sending each other verifiable "evidence of relationship" and in the end it will all be worth it.

Sounds like you're heading in the right direction. I lived and worked in China for almost six years so I got to know it pretty well. One of the advantages of K1 is that it gives you time to think about your relationship during processing. Wish you both luck and happiness. 新年好! Xin nian hao. Happy Chinese New Year!

Hi buddy thanks for the comments. Yes I do like that about the K1 as well, we can decide not to get married at any time if we realize it's not meant to be... now, I don't think that will happen, but I think it's better than getting married immediately and applying for a wife visa if our relationship is not that long.

Thank you happy new year too!
