I read a couple of pages of that thread....and I have a story to tell....

There was an old man at my dock, his name is "one eye" he's blind in 1 eye.....he's about 78 years old.

One day a few years ago, I went fishing. I come back to the dock around noon, with some striped bass. I gave a couple to my friends, and I kept a dinner fish in a cooler at my slip.

We get some lunch, and head out again. Catching another fish or 2. I come back, open my cooler, and the fish that I had left there earlier is gone! I asked my neighbors if they took the fish, and they told me that they saw one eye opening my cooler, and he was chased away. They didn't know if he returned to take the fish.

A few days later, I confront one eye and said "hey, you stole my fish!" Btw a 30lb striped bass is worth a good 200 bucks....

In a heavy italian accent, He said "nobody take-a.....I take-a"

I cursed him out to no ends and threatened to prosecute. Told him to never let me catch him by my boat.....

I did a little research. One eye, lost an eye when someone punched him in the eyeball after he was accused of stealing some money. One eye was always getting himself in trouble throughout his life.

He was eventually evicted out of the marina.

The reason why I brought this up is.

Everyone in that thread is kinda criticizing the OP. for all we know, he's just a new immigrant wanting some advice and peer support. And how do we know that his stepdad wasn't a f-ing a-hole all his life?

I see your point Steve, but I think it is normal for men (even fathers and sons) to come to fisticuffs on rare occasion.

I see your point Steve, but I think it is normal for men (even fathers and sons) to come to fisticuffs on rare occasion.

The answer about American culture he got was correct.

So, what if the father beats the son to a bloody pulp? I want to know whether you think that is okay or not.

Edit: To clarify, I'm throwing out a hypothetical here. This isn't linked to that thread - and father and son could be any age.

In regards to the thread: I can see why it was done. I can also see why the guy is upset. But this is one side of a story that keeps changing and there is another side and then there is what really happened in the middle somewhere. We'll never know and I'm happy the thread is locked.

IMHO, it would be a move out.

I would rather be homeless than put up with someone who beat me.
