One of the requirements listed for the CFO seminar is to bring the original and a photocopy of your visa. However, the instructions on my fiancee’s visa packet specifically say NOT to open the packet. That it should remain sealed and only be opened at the US port of entry. So how exactly are you supposed to make a photocopy of it?

Can someone with experience at the CFO share their experience?

Thanks

A visa is affixed to your passport; it isn't in the un-openable packet.

That's correct...we just did ours on Thursday. The Visa package comes in a yellow envelope. Outside of this yellow envelope is your passport. Your actual visa is attached to one of the pages inside your passport. Make copies of this page and your passport information page. It all arrives in a plastic bag from the embassy. This bag is inside of a 2Go plastic bag. The key is NOT TO OPEN THE YELLOW ENVELOPE. You have to open the plastic 2Go bag. Then the internal plastic bag seal can be carefully opened so you can remove your passport and then re-stick the seal. All this can be done without disturbing the yellow envelope. You are not breaking any rules here.

You can open the plastic bag to remove the passport (being you will need the passport for travel ;) ), just DO NOT OPEN or damage the yellow envelope.
