I have been tracking filers from other months pretty closely everyday and by the looks if it, the applications that were received by the USCIS between the 16th Jan to 23rd Jan are getting acceptances this week. So, taking into consideration that there are nor RFE's involved and USCIS is satifsfied, people who applied in the first week of Feb should start getting EAD acceptances starting 2nd week of April. So after 7th April we should be seeing some acceptances hopefully. Fingers crossed. Everyone keep posting about any changes in your online case status and all.

Best of Luck.

Well if you are right & I do see a change it the status of my EAD card then that will be nice but it will be of little use to me lol Edited by blk

Hi February Filers!

I've been following this topic and thought it was about time that I introduced myself too :)

I traveled to the States on a K1. We sent my AOS on Feb. 15, recieved our NOA1 on Feb 24, biometrics done on March 17, Sadly got an RFE on March 24, responded to it yesterday where I also recieved my SSN :)

Fingers crossed that our RFE won't delay things too much!!

Best of luck to everyone here!

What documents did they ask for when you applied for your SSN? I tried to apply for a SSN but they said I have to wait until I get my EAD and then I can apply!

It all depends on what Visa you came here on! On a K1 you can get a SSN :) So you just have to look up if the status you are here on allow you to get one! Here's a link that might be a help!

On a K1 visa, you can only apply(or change your name) for a ssn in a limited amount of time, to be more specific, a k1 visa holder can apply within 76 days on his/hers entrance into the US. If the 76 days have passed, you can only get a ssn with a uscis documend (ead or gc).

that's what the guy from the ssa told me and it's the same what many people have been saying here.

Hope it helps :)

That's exactly right :) It says that in the link I added too! I used that when I applied and it was really helpful for me - as is Visajourney, always :)
