Expediting Case

Hi everyone I recently made a request to expedite my case, my case is already completed and I was wondering if i did the correct thing to get a faster interview date due to the fact I am 6 months pregnant and dont want a interview close to my due date. Also if its possible how long does this take?

Normally, they send the interview letter close to two weeks from the time they completed the case. The interview date schedule is about 3 weeks from the date you received your interview letter. I am not sure about the expedite, but I do hope they make considerations...

The Expedite is only for USCIS to get it to the Consulate, after that it goes back to normal processing as far as I understand.

You'll see in my signature how long it took after my case was received at the Embassy.

I actually called the NVC and they told me to request an expedite for my case since Im already waiting for the interview I just need them to give me a sooner date so I wont have to fly so close to my due date and I was told that it would take alteast 14 days for a reply so hopefully it will get approved and get my interview date.

For spousal visa cases, there is the NVC step. An expedite would need to be granted there as well before the file could proceed to the Embassy or Consulate.

If the follow expedite rules pregnancy does NOT qualify for expedite unless there is an extreme medical issue

Remember by asking for an expedite through the NVC, if granted then you're putting your case directly in the hands of the consulate or embassy. They will now schedule your interview vs the NVC. Also you will have no one to double check your paperwork to make sure everything is there and completed.

Another thing to note is you may have to bring proof of medical insurance to the interview to show that you won't be using medicare to have the baby.
