Just wanted to know if anyone else is stuck at the NVC and is still waiting for there case to be sent to embassy? Been waiting 2 weeks now whilst other people wait as little as 2 days. A fellow British filer who's case arrived a day after ours has since had there case sent on and done all the rest and is now on the interview stage! So frustrating. :( :(

My sister in law is petitioning to bring her son over (he is a minor), and they have had her papers for 2 weeks now. We are working with the congressman's liason, and the NVC told her that they are extremely back logged, and are telling people to expect about a month.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

That is depressing to think we have to wait another month! This process is a joke :(

The son would be an 1-130 that processes at NVC, so maybe a different time thing.

Rich and Chrissy-- I have known of K1s getting hung up at NVC from time to time in my history of being on VJ. Sometime a whole bunch and other times just the one case. I din't really have any magic solutions to suggest.

That's ok Nich-nick you have been awesome through out this process. It's just so frustrating not being able to do anything other than wait.

IMO, it's still sitting inside USCIS office . You talk with an ISO recently, asking for casefile location?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

IMO stands for In My Opinion and I don't know what ISO stands for but I'm guess a immigration officer. Think you should call the USCIS and ask to speak to a supervisor and ask where your case file is located as you think it maybe lost or misplaced due to the time. I don't know if you have a congress or senate person involved in your case but if you do you can ask them to call as well as they get straight through to the supervisors and find out more info.

i actually have a lawyer but it seems like they are not proactive with inquiring or following up the petition. how do i get a senator involve with my case?

i have called uscis today and they have sent a request for an officer to call me back in regards to my petition and they told me i can also call again tomorrow.

Your a different visa to mine but I assume same things apply. You will need to contact your local senators office and ask to speak to a immigration specialist. Tell them what's happened and they should ask you to fill out a form which grants them access to the case information. Once they get that they get involved by calling the USCIS etc and making enquiries and find out what's going on. Edited by Rich and Chrissy

would that be okay even though i have a lawyer that is helping me with my case??? would it delay or affect the processing of my husbands petition?

I don't see how but I would ask the senators office that question when you call.
