Didnt we luck out! His status says the same, updated July 11th. It's the part about several weeks that I don't like! Fingers crossed it'll be this week for us both.

I would not worry too much, I know it will be this week :)

About the "several weeks" part, I think that they are saying this in case they found something during the background checks or if there is an important problem which could cause an important delay.. They warn people in case that something like that happens.

The part "if your visa application is approved it will be processed and mailed within 2 business days", at the end of the message, is more important to focus on, because we already know that we are approved ! ;)

Well for some reason we had to go pick it up at the post office. But I was tracking it via UPS the minute it says delivered at the post office he got a text message telling him he had a package, went to pick it up that same day.

So for the people who are getting their interview soon, when you get your picture taken, ask for 4 pictures... before my interview I got my picture taken, the embassy told me I only needed 2 pictures so I asked 2 pictures to the photograph. Got my interview, everything went well and the next day I got a phone call from the embassy telling me they lost my 2 pictures, the ones I gave during the interview and they scanned the same day. They told me they needed new ones that are the same. Except I only had 2... so i called the photograph in Paris where my pictures were taken and of course they didn't have my pictures on their computer anymore because it's been more than 2 days so I went to a photograph in my town, the embassy was nice enough to send me via email the picture I gave and they scanned the day of the interview so I could show the photograph how to take the picture so it looked like the same (I had to wear the same clothes, tried to get my hair the exact same way it was on the picture...) and at the end I'm not really satisfied with the picture (he wasn't able to frame exactly like the first pictures). I still sent the pictures to the embassy and I'll see if it's good enough for them... but yeah, get 4 pictures, just in case...

Hi guys,

I have a question regarding Packet 3. On the NVC website, my case says "Ready", but we have not heard from the embassy about packet 3. I have read that some people never receive it and just move on with the rest of the process. And I have also read that some people received an email form the embassy and then do the DS-160 and online profile creation for the appointment. Could you please tell me what your situation was? Did you receive anything form them? If not, did you run into any trouble at the embassy after you had booked your appointment yourself?

Many thanks for your help!

Hi,

I never received anything from the embassy until after I was almost done with the process. 1) fill out the DS-160 2) create an account will message you the website and such. After you pay for the DS-160, you will be able to schedule the interview. 3) after you schedule the interview you can go ahead and do medical.

I'm hoping that someone here can help me go through the process as smoothly as possible. I received an NOA2 with a date of September 19th in the mail yesterday. I was told by some people here I could call the NVC this week to try to retrieve a case number. Apparently for some countries its possible to begin filling out the DS-160, scheduling the doctors appointment, and interview once the case # is received (before receiving information from the embassy). But I'm not sure if this would be okay to do with the French Embassy. Could someone advise me who has already gone through this part of the process so I can know how to proceed? I apologize for being completely lost!

Thanks in advance!
