Our RFE turned out to be a missed box on one form indicating whether or not the petitioner had a criminal record.

Many emotions are presenting themselves for use, but I am going to go with relief and say it could have been worse.

Our [insert colourful adjective of choice] lawyer is driving to my fiance's house tomorrow to sign the relevant paperwork again. Problem solved.

Just thought i'd share:

I was fully expecting an RFE as we:

didnt send in passport sized photos,

didnt write/sign/send intents to marry,

got my father's birth place wrong,

all we sent for proof of meeting was photos, no boarding passes/passport stamps etc

just got my NOA2 today, no RFE.

That gives me hope because all we went in was the fee, I-129f, G-325a for each of us and the request for e-notification. The USCIS website didn't say to send anything else so we didn't but kinda wished I'd see this forum before filing... I have everything ready so when it's requested we'll be good to go. :D

I just got this same RFE!! About domestic violence, homicide, murder, etc....Did yours come with a blue cover sheet? and then all you had to do was check a box that said.."none of the above apply", sign and date it??? I was so mad when I got that! They are supposed to have been doing a background check on me for the past 6 months...shouldn't they have figured that I'm not a criminal?!?!? I'm a little relieved though to see that you received your NOA2 so quickly after you sent that back b/c I sent mine back the day I got it so hopefully we'll have the same luck with time.

I don't honestly know what it looked like because it went to my handsome fiance but from what I understand, all he had to do was check a box, "none" or whatever, sign it and send it back. it was pretty ridiculous. of course, now that we're past the USCIS stage, there is a whole new list of deadlines I'm trying not to fuss over...

Hello fellow RFE-ers,

I received my RFE today asking for proof that the petitioner and beneficiary have met in person. It specifically states needing the front page of the passport with names and any stamped entry to Kenya pages. Originally, I just sent black and white copies of the pages with stamped entries to Kenya, along with photos, and itineraries in my K-1 packet. In response to my RFE, I was planning on sending colored copies of all the necessary pages of my passport, copies of my bank statements for the months I was in Kenya showing ATM transactions, receipts from hotel stays, a personal statement from my friend who traveled to Kenya with me my last trip with her passport stamps, receipts, and photos, along with another longer explanation of the circumstance of our meetings.

I was wondering if it mattered if only my fiance's name was on the hotel receipts? Does anyone have anything I can add? And most importantly, will this be enough evidence to get us approved?! Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
