Hello Everyone:

Can someone please let me know what the documents requirements are for traveling with an infant from the Philippines to the US? The baby is 9 months old. His CRBA just got approved and he just got his US Passport today. Is there anything else that they need aside from the baby's US Passport? I've heard that they would need an immigration clearance but i dont understand what that is and do we need to apply for that with the US embassy in Manila or can it be applied online? The baby will be traveling with his Filipino citizen mother (who is coming to the US with a K1 visa), and his US citizen grand parents.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

-Jenna

This past year I moved with my 2 US Citizen children back to the states. All they needed was their passports. If the mother has a K-1 visa, then there should be no problem, and no need for immigration clearance from the Philippines as far as I know. A US Citizen child does not need a visa to come into their own country.

Some countries need an export clearance inable to leave the country. This will proabaly apply to the child especially, if she is a dual citizen.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

You may have to pay the exit tax but other then that you should be fine to travel.

Of course your fiancee will have to pay this also (1620 Php for your fiancee), this can be paid at the airport.

The Philippine government website I referenced for this was hacked a few weeks back and they have not rebuilt the website or I have not found where they have move the info to.

Here is some info: http://www.philippineconsulate.com.au/travel-tax.html

As far as I can see the US passport is the only thing required for the infant to travel to the US. If he or she didnt have a US passport that would be a different matter, but as he or she has it then it should be enough. Take a look at the Embassy of the Philippines in Washington for more links & info http://www.philippineembassy-usa.org/index.php?page=consular-services-dc/faq-dc/
