Problems with I-130

HI!

I'm Jennifer from Sri Lanka. My husband filed the I-130 petition on September 23, 2013. We both received an e-mail saying the lockbox received the documents on September 25, 2013. However, we never received the NOA1 -- Notice of Acceptance.

It is a little confusing as to why this was not sent, either by e-mail or post. After inquiring about the state of our case, we were e-mailed back saying the case was being processed at the National Benefits Center. However, still no NOA1.

The USCIS Check-Your-Status tool shows our case is at the initial inquiry level. I've already emailed the lockbox asking why the NOA1 was not sent. I am still wondering if that little e-mail we got was actually the NOA1!!!dry.png

Any thoughts? I would appreciate some feedback.

Oh hey thanks for the reply!

It's actually been a couple of months since we were informed that it was received. So, obviously, the hard copy has not come yet. Is it the petitioner who gets it or both of us?

The petitioner will be the one to receive your NOA1 ours came in the mail

about 7 to 10 days after we filed. if you filed in September you should call

the USCIS and by pass the 1st person as they are just customer service

and ask for a tier 2 officer and inquire about why you haven't received your

NOA1. In that amount of time you should already have your NOA1.

Here is there number: 1-800-375-5283

You say you got letter you were approved. You mean the I-797C. Have you received anything from NVC about your case#?

Have you called USCIS to see what is going on or called NVC to see if your petition has arrived there? Please don't go by what you see on the website its not gospel. You need to be calling and now.

Gosh I hope you haven't been sittting at NVC all this time. The email would have been sent to Petitioner that with case#.

First start at USCIS and get status on case and say you got letter June 2013 saying you were approved. If they say yes than moveon to NVC. But as I ask you said you got letter was tis the NOA2 I-797C letter in mail (not email)?

Thanks "Kaylara"...

My husband is on a business trip at the moment and since the above posts scared me, I thought I'd call and ask. But yeah, apparently the petitioner has to call. :(

Thanks for the feedback anyway.

And thank you to everyone else also.

It's amazing how everyone's so willing to help on this site. I wish we found out about this before we even applied.
