the embassy isn't trying to break anyone up, the consulate has a job to do. AP cannot be waived or expedited, they have no control over how long background checks take to clear. Record keeping in Pakistan is horrible at best and trying to complete AP is a long, tedious process when record keeping is so bad. The cannot and do not discriminate because of what you call "mixed marriages".

Hi Mimolicious,

They do not have a fair or equal processing system. Some people from pakistan get cleared in a few days some in months while others just wait for ages. I agree that the record keeping is bad in pakistan but if that is the case then everybody has to wait for ages to get cleared why some couples ?

Anyways everyone has different views. The only point I am making here that there should be a system. To take a decission or do background checks one year is a hell of a time but no they take ages because its a rocket science for them.

any body have experienced the embassy dformaated email about the process coming from the perosnal email but with @state.gov

8 may 2014 i emailed embassy first time about how the process will take. yesterday again i emailed them it was 29 may 2014 and today i got reply but 3 email.

first one came at 2:56am american time which is from some guy working in embassy his email address is (his first and last name)@state.gov

then again i got email from same email address but this time in the email he just wrote RECALL and my case number.

then the third email i got it was from address islamabadnorely@state.gov which is for every one.

i have no idea whats is going on in embassy and this time the mention my wife name in the email also. they never mention any name when doing the regular process email.

i think they are to let me know that they are working on it and they the case and i still have to wait.

32 month of Ap and and still waiting 29 feb submit new medical and picture and etc.. and still waiting and embassy send me this email which is called bullshit

Thank you for your email,

As per our available record, your visa case is still part of a departmental (integral) administrative process, (regrettably, not waive-able or expedite-able). Though, we certainly understand the importance of family reunion, and also aware about the frustration often caused by the delay.

Unfortunately, we are unable to predict the amount of time this process will require. However, it is imperative to mention that as soon as this process is concluded, we will move forward regarding this case, and will contact accordingly.

Sincerely,

IV Unit, Consular Section,

U.S. Embassy, Islamabad.
