I also can't stand the chipmunk Christmas song either. It gets annoying!
The Paul McCartney song is now lodged in my brain with my nasty head cold.

I just don't deserve this! :crying: :crying: :crying:

Maybe some eggnog will help...

A head cold and eggnog? Sounds like a bad mix. Mucus, anyone? :P

Already got some, thanks. :P

I just figured if I already am coughing up a lung, might as well get eggnog out of it. ;)

True! :D

or this one... "Happy Christmas (War Is Over)" John Lennon & Yoko Ono
So this is Christmas

And what have you done

Another year over

And a new one just begun

And so this is Christmas

I hope you have fun

The near and the dear ones

The old and the young

A very Merry Christmas

And a happy New Year

Let’s hope it’s a good one

Without any fear

etc...

That's one of my favorites!

Mine too. Sarah McLachlan did a cover of it on her Wintersong CD...very pretty (and way better than Yoko's voice!).

That awful song...about the christmas shoes for his momma...

I want to puke. :(

Yup....I loathe that one too.....and Santa Baby........and Blue Christmas.....and The Little Drummer Boy......and Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer

In fact, I hardly listen to Christmas music anymore since so many radio stations here start playing the Christmas tunes on 15 November. UGH! They just take away from the specialness of the season by dragging it out for so long. Sorry if I sound like a scrooge, but I don't think the Christmas holy day was ever intended to be a 6 to 7 week holiday-a-thon.

On a positive note, I do love the Christamas song that Bob Geldoff put together in the 80's - Do They Know Its Christmas Time. So I'm not a total scrooge!!!:)

That Happy Christmas one is one of my faves too  but I'm a sucker for almost any Christmas song..just love em for some reason. :) I'm prettyyyy sick of "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" and all of those type though...thought it was cute when it first came out, but they've just WAYYY overplayed it. Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Go ahead and ring her neck! I know exactly what you are talking about. I have my own office but the poor guys in the lab have to hear the same 20 songs over and over and over again.

Grandma rundover by a reeeeendr is the worst by the way! Just want to puke when I hear that.

10Yr GC arrived 07/02/09 - Naturalization is next

The drama begins - again!

And now the drama ends - they took the Green card . . .

Ohhhh I forgot the "Wham" one ARGHHHH I HATE it!!!!

Still have Paul stuck in my head too, :help:

"We are the real countries,

Not the boundaries drawn on maps,

With the names of powerful men.

That's all I've wanted -

To walk in such a place with you,

On an earth without maps."

Personally? I hate all Christmas songs tacky decorations and pretty much all christmas all together....bah humbug. It drives my hubbie crazy- next year? I am getting out of here to some nice beach and a cold beer, with absolutley ZERO Christmas music. If it was'nt for the kids I'd boycott all together! Sorry- just my feelings on the subject. It might have been the working "retail" before Christmas that did it.......

It always makes me sob. I can't listen to it anymore.

My faves:

O Holy Night - it will bring me chills

All I Want For Christmas Is You - cos that one's true! I can even stomach Mariah singing it, which is odd.

Fairytale of New York

When I lived with D, the songs I couldn't stand were:

Blue Christmas

I'll Be Home for Christmas

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
