I-864 questions?

I keep seeing on some peoples timelines that there is a fee for the I-864 forms...is that true and if so, how much? And in that matter what other fees and how much will be needed from submission of the I-130 (which we paid for already) to the end of the interview? Im so confused by that.

My other question is if you're having co-sponsors, do you need to pay for each individual form (So does my wife and my co-sponsors who are my mother and father in law have to pay for each form? Or is it a one time fee?)

Good morning! If the I-864 is being filled in the US there is a fee. If filing abroad, there is no fee. ;-) The fee applies to the petitioner so if you are petitioning only your wife, there is only one fee.

No its being filed from the US, not by me, since that would make no sense, cause its my wife and her parents who are sponsoring me right? And we sent the paperwork from the states as well already.

Do you happen to know how much this filling fee is? I think I read its 350? And its only a one time fee for all sponsors or does each sponsor have to pay that fee?

Yes, there is a $88 fee per case for reviewing the Affidavit of Support (Forms I-864, I-864A, I-864W and/or I-864EZ) when the form(s) is(are) filed in the U.S.

No it's the other way around... If you file the I-864 with an adjustment of status there is no fee (it's combined into the AOS fee) but if the case is going to a consulate or embassy, such in any CR1/IR1 case, there is an $88 fee for the AOS documentation. It is the NVC (National Visa Center) who charges this fee. This fee is charged regardless of where the petitioner is. (DCF may be different but doesn't apply in this case as the OP is a Canadian (or Canadian PR) beneficiary.)

Also there is the immigrant visa fee of $230 that will need to be paid before you can complete the DS-260

Once your I-130 is approved and you have a case no. from NVC you will be able to send your AOS and IV packet and pay $88 and after your IV fee $230 show paid you will be able to fill out the DS260 online.
