My name is Aaron, I met my beautiful wife over the internet and after talking to her for a few months decided to visit her. Everything went unbelievably well when I met her and so I decided to marry her. Now, here we are around one month has past since the i130 and the i129f was filed. I hope to read others stories and also share my own weird story of how and what happens during this process that I never thought I would take in my life. I guess you really can't control who you fall in love with.

  • April 27, 2013 Starting talking
  • August 10, 2013 Flight to Philippines
  • August 23, 2013 Wedding
  • September 13, 2013, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case.
  • October 7, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E).

Welcome!

I'm just confused whether you filed a 129F or a I130. You are married but you filed a I-129f?

Since you are already married, you only had to file the I-130. The I-129F is only for unmarried people. You might want to withdraw the I-129f bc it will cause confusion to USCIS and might lengthen your wait more.

Filing the I-130 & I-129F represents an attempt at the K-3 visa path, which is not that feasible, because the I-129F will probably be closed. This would put the OP on the CR-1 visa path.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Today I got I797C stating that my case was transferred in order to speed up my case. It was transferred to California Service Center in Laguna Niguel.

Dose this mean I'm starting the estimated 5 month wait now??

Anyone have experience with processing in CA center?

lol.... There are a LOT of folks that have had experience with the California Service Center in Laguna Niguel.... It has been one of the primary adjudication centers for I-129F petitions for several years.....

Wrong! The I129 is also used by married couples who are filing for a K3 in conjunction with their I130 ... Please do not confuse the OP ... The K3 is virtually obsolete, however, filing is free with the CR1 so no harm...

10/14/2000 - Met Aboard a Cruise ship

06/14/2003 - Married Savona Italy

03/21/2009 - I-130 Mailed to Chicago lockbox

11-30-09: GOT GREEN CARD in mail!!!!!!

who knows?

new place, new queue, new place in queue.

I pray it goes fast, within 45 days, but that's just a quick prayer to The God and her Seven Sisters.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
