Hi! calm down... You are closer to the end of the road. Soon you will get a letter from the NVC saying that your petition will be forwarded to the consulate of your fiancee's country. When your petition gets there, they will send you the package 3 (which is a bunch of papers saying what documents you will need in your interview) the package 4 is a paper saying when your interview will be. In my case I receive both packages together, but in other ocuntries you get package 3 first, and when you gathered all documents for the interview then you get package 4. There's no deadlines for filling and return documents but you have to do it as soon as you can cause your NOA2 is only valid for 4 months.

Hope I could help you with this information, Good luck

Basically USCIS forwards your case to NVC for them to do additional backgound checks. Due to the fact that K1 visas are in the NVC for such short a time does not allow you to find information via their automated phone service.

You could send an e-mail once a week until they respond that your case is/was there.

That is what I did.

Before I knew it, my case had already passed through their hands/security checks.

Once that is done (2-4 weeks), your case is forwarded to the US embassy in your fiance's country. They will send the "package 3" to you the foreign fiance and s/he will have to fill out some papers and return it.

That is when they send the "package 4" for the interview.

The date should be included.

After the NOA2 the rest is usually pretty fast.

Good luck.

Do you have to? No. If it is allowed and you can be present at that time then it might be a good idea.

YMMV

I'm going and really excited about it - been saving my personal days like crazy

This way if they ask my fiance for a picture he can say "no, but here she is..."

Plus, it's in Rio de Janeiro, so who wouldn't want to go.
