Have a great day everyone!

I'll be cooking a big turkey dinner for my wife on Sunday, with pumpkin pie for dessert. I started this tradition 3 years ago when she came here to give her a little bit of home. It's great to have two thanksgivings ever year now.

Forgot it was Cdn Thanksgiving on Monday! No big plans here, think we are going out for Sushi once my wife returns from the USA on Monday! Have a good one everyone.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

My husband and I are smoking a turkey for canadian thanksgiving! My husband's favorite holiday is thanksgiving, so he's super happy to have an excuse to have two thanksgivings. I'm gonna make nanaimo bars and butter tarts too!

YAY THANKSGIVING! My parents are on their way now! They are stuck in traffic somewhere in NY, so they probably won't be here until 9 tonight or so. They will be here until Wednesday anyway. We are having turkey (which was difficult to find) and my mom and I are making pies tomorrow (she is bringing me Monarch Cake and Pastry flour and Tenderflake shortening as there is no other way I would want my pie crust!).

Ya know i forgot it was our Thanksgiving too. With the baby due any day now i've been way too preoccupied with other things!

Hope you all have a great day with family and make sure to eat lots of pie for me since i can't! ( stupid Gestational diabetes /cry) :)

I was having serious family issues on both sides at the end of September, so I knew I had to fly home to be with everyone. I didn't remember until I got back to Toronto that I would be here for Thanksgiving! Imagine my joy - two Thanksgivings this year! Yuuuuummm.

Heading back to Hawaii on Wednesday morning... right after I stuff my face with turkey.
