Ouch, in that case kinda does read like you will need the new forms, better safe than sorry I guess. And assuming this form need the same information that you put on the other forms, hopefully it wont take too much to get it done.

Manila isn't listening... ;)

Neither the USEM website or their instructions letter state anything about using the DS-160 with the K-1. For now.

Follow the embassy instructions letter and information on the embassy website.

Nope. You are fine, USEM has not changed any of the forms as of yet according to their instructions letter and the USEM website.

In a similar vein to what has already been posted, my fiancee is prepping to send back packet 3 (K-1), but we're a little stuck on what exactly to send back. According to the checklist (http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/packet3-k1-mtl.pdf), she has to have the DS-230, DS-156, DS-156K, and the confirmation page for the DS-160.

First question, do copies of all of those go with the checklist to mail back for the packet 3, or just the DS-160 confirmation page and the checklist itself?
Second, if the DS-156 is no longer available (we couldn't access it), is she only to bring the DS-160 to the interview?

Hello Hank,

I had scheduled our Manila Embassy interview Before the October 7, 2013 as stated on the http://travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_4401.html so the DS-160 should not apply to us. Interview dat is set for November 14, 2013

NOTE: For K visa cases in process at a U.S. embassy or consulate, the DS-160 is not required when, prior to October 7th, 2013, one of the following situations exist:

  • The K visa applicant is already scheduled for an interview.
  • The K visa applicant has already been interviewed and has been requested to submit additional documentation or is pending administrative processing.
  • The K visa applicant has already submitted a valid, signed, unexpired DS-156, DS-156K and/or DS-230 or received instructions to do so.

However, following the link on the Manila Embassy that still states to use the DS-156 but the Site Link to Travel.State.Gov no longer has the DS-156 just the DS-160

b. DS-156 NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION. Each applicant must submit two (2) completed
copies of this form. Download form at
Here is the current site Travel.State.Gov documents that are available. No DS-156 or DS-230
SO, Do you think I should just fill the DS-160 even though Manila Embassy site is not upgraded to ask for it?
Thanks for any advice you can give.
Brad

As of October 9th USEM has switched over to the DS-160, just took them a couple days longer then when state.gov posted the info... wink.png

The DS-156 is the only form you are missing? Here is a link to that form online: https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp

And here is a link to the DS-230 (part 1 only remember) http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/81807.pdf

Or you could simply do the DS-160 and toss the other forms... sort of a "do over"

Hi Hank,

Sine we haven't filled any forms I think it would be easier to fill the DS-160 online and then only need the DS-157 which is still available. I just get uneasy when the Manila Embassy has not upgraded their info and the links they give no longer leads to the forms they state a person needs. I wrote an email to the Embassy but I think we will just go ahead and fill out the DS-160 that files online as that seems to be what is coming down on Manila Embassy from the powers above. If I get a reply back from the Manila Embassy stating different then I will just use the PDF you gave and scan and email to my Fiance.

Thanks for the advice Hank!
