After it finally updated, how long did it take to show as available for pickup?

We interviewed on 10/7, but the only thing showing any updates is the CEAC website. There have been several of them, most recent as 10/15, but the status has always been "ready" to the best of my knowledge. When calling, emailing, or checking the ustraveldocs site, it's as if nothing has changed.

I hate this whole process, lol.

gogo - I suggest that our timeline after interview day wasn't normal, as we had to submit more stuff after the interview day. Hence the lag. MANY people get the visa packet within 2 weeks after interview day .

Darnell- Thanks for providing us with a detailed timeline, it's certainly helpful.

For anyone else who might get any benefit, my timeline from the interview until now:

  • 10/07 - Interviewed and passed
  • We saw several updates on the CEAC website, but always remained in 'ready' status
  • 10/15 - I filled out this this inquiry http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/immigrant-visa-unit-question.html
  • 10/17 - As of about an hour or two ago, the CEAC updated to administrative processing, which I thought was interesting because of their office hours
  • Still no status changes on ustraveldocs website or when I email passport@ustraveldocs.com with the passport number in the subject and body of the email

woo hoo ! CHRIS ! Call into the ustraveldocs Guangzhou help desk #.

Press 3 for English,

then something for Immigrant Visas

then something for schedule over the phone

when you get a human, ask where the passport is.

yes, you should get same result between pasport tracking and email tracking.

Bah - that didn't work for me - I never got stuff via email - always 'no info for the passport number'

Prolly a glitch on their side.
