Comments : Approved on my birthday, what a great present! Smooth sailing, no problems.

We had an incident at an airport shortly after we were married, but there was no police record months later. I still checked the "yes" box asking if you've ever been detained and wrote a lengthy explanation with proof that I tried to get the police report but none was available. This just proves that honesty is the best policy!

Embassy Review : Met up with another VJ member yesterday and the day before to exchange notes and review paperwork together. Also met up with several of the same QQ "Gang of 6" group members and my Fiancee found talking to them helpful in calming her nerves. 3 of them all passed earlier that day and explained to her that they didn't ask for much of all the paperwork that they and ourselves prepared. Caught several things I overlooked like the Telegraph code, adding Chinese to the DS-156. Really helpful to work with another VJ member if possible!
Interview went very well. Arrived just after 6:30am, already a line for the 7:30am appointments. Security organized the line around 7am, and they started letting them in around 7:40am.
Security formed our line for 8:30 appointments around 8am. Of course some ass Chinese guy cut in front of us in line when security organized it. If I knew Chinese I would of yelled at him, lol. We were still #3 and the fellow VJer and his Fiancee #2 in line.
Two CGI Stanley girls checked our Fiancee's passports and appointment letters, attached a sticker to her passport and they were let in around 8:40am. I wish I could of given them a piece of my mind about their awful "service!"
The Questions she was asked:
Have you met my parent's before?
How do you know my father?
What is my father's job?
Can you speak English or Chinese? (in English) Both, but I'm very nervous and my English isn't very good. The VO commented that her English is very good!
(Interview continues in Chinese)
Do you love him?
Why do you love him?
How often do we talk?
How long have we been talking?
Have you been to the US?
(At this point from talking to my Fiancee the questions changed to imply that she already passed the interview without knowing yet.)
(VO sees resume) What do you want to study in US?
When do you plan on going to US?
When did we meet the last time? Hong Kong, November 2012. (Fiancee flashes my passport with the EoR that I had notarized at ACS the day before. Thanks Darnell for this awesome tip, great idea! Well spent $50.) He's waiting for me outside. (VO very surprised to hear this!)
Are you a communist?
Congratulations, you are Approved! :kicking
She was out at around 10:10am and met us at the Starbucks a block from the Consulate, very convenient if anyone needs a place to meet. There's also a Western restaurant that has breakfast all day to meet at nearby too.
Overall, great experience. Mine and fellow VJer's Fiancees were super happy when they came out!
I printed a bunch of photos of me with her parents and family from the week before. They didn't even ask for any photos or any of the other 500+ pages of paperwork we brought. Just asked for the forms, resume, medical and that's about it. Didn't even ask for the "White books" for the no criminal record, marital status and birth certificate. Or, for the Singapore no criminal record that we spent a lot of money getting in time for the interview! Oh well!

Embassy Review : Had an interview today for my wife's AOS to green card. It was at 12:30pm, we arrived just after noon and waited in a line for 5 minutes to go through security. Just like the airport, minus the shoes removal.
The interview notice said first floor, but security directed us to second floor. We checked in with the reception desk, and they took the interview letter, confirmed our ID's and told us our name will be called. The waiting room is huge, multiple doors where IO's come out and call names. Very spacious and modern.
We waited about 20-30 minutes and then we were called. The IO led us to his office and he confirmed our ID's again and wrote down my DL #. Our casefile is massive, probably 6". I asked him about it at the end and he said it has our K-1 visa initial filing as well as AOS on the other side attached to the top with a metal clasp through 2 holes in the papers. Let's just say that I submitted everything that I could possibly think of for the initial filing and her AOS.
He asked my wife basic questions like my full name including middle name, where we live right now, her SSN, my phone number, what kind of place we live in, and who lives there. He then proceeded to confirm all of the terrorist/spy/fraud questions at the bottom of the i-485.
After this, he asked us about our relationship story. Basically just confirmed what was already known in the declaration of relationship that I submitted with her AOS explaining our entire story. In the middle of explaining it to him, he asked to see photos so I showed him about 20 photos that I prepared. I expected him to take a few, but he didn't. He asked us who all the people were in the photos as well and we both told him without any trouble since we had photos of her family during my trip to China last year for her k-1 Interview in Guangzhou and my family at our wedding/reception and Christmas.
After this, he asked me if I had anything else to add to the casefile, and I told him yes. I pulled out my spiral folder and handed him our joint account bank statements, life insurance with my wife as beneficiary, wife's life insurance for her through my work, apartment lease with my wife added, Medical and Dental insurance bills and doctor receipts with my wife as patient name, and insurance summary from my work with my wife's added. He actually handed back the lease and insurance document minus the first 3 pages, as he said that was plenty of proof, lol. I wanted to give him some utility bills with both our names, and other documents but he said it wasn't necessary and congratulations you are approved!
The IO handed us a document say that we weren't approved, but under further review was needed. He explained that the document just means that they need to review our case further, but her green card will arrive within 30 days He added that the case status would change by the end of the day to card production to reflect this.
Our case status tracking went from Initial Review to Decision in about 20 minutes after the interview and then went to post decision activity about 5 minutes after that and then Card production in about 10 minutes after that, lol.
So happy now! We will be making a trip to the SSN office yet again to remove the "DHS authorization required" from her SSN card to get her permanent card.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
