Hello Everyone!

We finally got a valid interview date for my Mother in Law!

My wife is SOoooooo happy!

The interview is Nov 7th.

She wants to book tickets for mom to fly over on Nov 23rd.

I think this is playing with fire!

I really don't think its a good idea to book anything until mom has the visa but I am not getting anywhere with this reasoning...

Anyone have thoughts on just how fast we can expect the visa to show up at Mall of Asia 2Go offices?

http://blogs.usembassy.gov/philippines/?p=1533 says to expect 7 to 10 days.

Maybe faster if its held at MoA.

Shir really wants her mom here before the end of Nov.

Any thoughts??

if you don't mind , when her mom get case a complete? because i want to know how long to wait between the case complete to get a interview date @ embassy manila. thank u and good luck..

April 19, 2013 - submit the form I-130

April 22, 2013 - Receive the NOA1

July 29, 2013 - Approved NOA2 ( 82 working days)

July 30, 2013 - USCIS shipped my documents to NVC

Aug 5, 2013 - Arrived at NVC Building

Aug 13, 2013 - Got the NVC case # via PHONE

Aug 14, 2013 - Got the Invoice # via PHONE

Aug 15, 2013 - Send my DS-3032 via Email

Aug 16, 2013 - AOS Pay

Aug 17, 2013 - Got an email to print the COVER SHEET

Aug 21, 2013 - send the AOS overnight at NVC

Aug 28, 2013 - Accept the DS-3032

Aug 30, 2013 - IV BILL pay and Documents Sent to NVC receive the checklist AOS.

September 19, 2013 Sent back the checklist

September 20, 2013 Sept 26, arrived @ NVC

Dont buy the ticket yet, u can have it reserved (if possible) but never purchase yet til visa is on hand. From what ive read here, visa may be available at MoA 2days to 2weeks from interview date. It depends on the consul i guess.

08.24.2013 - got married in the Philippines!

09.25.2013 - NOA1 via email

11.18.2013 - requested expedite due to typhoon

12.02.2013 - CFO seminar

12.12.2013 - I-130 approved, NOA2 via email (never transferred); shipped to NVC

12.30.2013 - NVC received the case

01.06.2014 - requested expedite due to typhoon and PCS

01.08.2014 - Case # and IIN; submitted DS-261; NVC asked for 2 contact #s of beneficiary

01.09.2014 - AOS fee billed

01.14.2014 - AOS fee showed paid

01.15.2014 - IV fee billed; expedite approved

01.18.2014 - sent AOS package

01.22.2014 - IV fee showed paid; AOS arrived at NVC as per UPS (10:18am by FNU)

01.24.2014 - sent IV package

01.27.2014 - submitted DS-260; IV docs delivered to NVC as per DHL (10:52am by PETERS G)

We waited almost 2 months to get the interview date.

I have heard others have waited longer...

You have already experienced what can go expectantly wrong with the visa process. IMHO it's best to wait till you have the visa in your hand before purchasing airline tickets.

To change a ticket that has already been purchased can be costly. I just recently had to change a flight (for other reasons then for the interview) and the airline charges with penalty cost me more than a new ticket.

So don't buy the ticket till your visa is in hand.

Good news that you have been able too get the interview date finally for your MIL. Good luck.
