Is my LPR wife going to be eligible for Obamacare

Not that i am for it or anything

Yes I know this might not be the exact right forum but it's home

Yes. She would not eligible for Medicaid under the Medicaid expansion that the ACA provides for if she has been a LPR for less than 5 years. That's largely irrelevant for you anyways since Georgia is boycotting the Medicaid expansion. But, as a lawful permanent resident regardless of years of residency, she is eligible for the same plans and subsidies as any citizen would be. Georgia didn't get to boycott that part of the ACA so your wife will be eligible.

awesome our rates came out today.

Odd however that our rates are 100 per month higher than a neighboring county...

So you will put your wife's healthcare into the hands of Washington bureaucrats?

Do I have a choice? right now i have VA and she is uninsured .

I got to look at the plans next Tuesday and see. I was about to buy a high deductible plan for about 220.00 per month. Guess i will wait until next Tuesday

I wonder how they think folks will afford 300 bucks per month

I took your initial response as you being happy that she's eligible to participate.

Just as do today. I'm out more than that each month between my HDHP premiums and funding my HSA the high deductible.

I thought you were independently wealthy, being able to retire at age 50 and all.

My wife and I pay $200 a month each, or $400 monthly.

You might be a lib

The signs are there.

Paper income? Sounds like you are evading your taxes. Gotta report all income. On paper.

No, but bytching about $300 per month for your wife's health insurance doesn't make you look like Rockefeller either.

Looks like a part time gig at the Quickie Mart is in your future.
