Rep. Pete King calls Cruz a 'fraud'

Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) called Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) “a fraud” on Friday, according to multiple reports.

King's criticism was rooted in Cruz's support for tying language defunding ObamaCare to a bill funding the government.

CNN reported that King called Cruz a fraud who will “no longer have any influence in the Republican Party.”

“I hope people will get the message this guy is bad for the party," he said.

"We can't be going off on these false missions that Ted Cruz wants us to go on. The issues are too important, he told CNN. “They're too serious. They require real conservative solutions, not cheap headline-hunting schemes.”

A number of Republicans have criticized Cruz in recent days for pushing the strategy of tying ObamaCare funding to a bill to keep the government operating but then saying the Senate would not have the vote to make the plan law.

Problem is, they can't. Not as long as elections are decided in a "winner takes all" way. Split the vote on the right and the left goes on winning without breaking a sweat.

It is amusing to watch how the GOP can't manage the crazies that it has been egging on back in 2009/10. Reminds me of Goethe's Sorcerer's Apprentice. Good stuff!

I keep writing letters of complaint to the Canadien Embassy in DC and the Cuban Embassy in Venezuela, about this fella, but no one is replying back.

But just maybe these guys could get something accomplished if the Tea Party became it's own party. At least during the Reagan era they were just religious nuts who still compromised occasionally. (Yet most were pretending to be religious nuts)

I'd think there's alot of people like me out there that are for smaller government, lower taxes, less regulation, less people living off the govt. dole, etc. etc. All that gets lost when they spend all their time trying to bring down Obama or "out-god" each other. God has no place in politics. That's what religion and churches are for.

If that was true, the Republican party would be focused on these issues more heavily and not be the champion of the loons. The loons outnumber you and those like you. That is why the Republican Party is what it is.

That's how they used to be. Then the moral majority and all those bible thumpers got involved.

I saw an interview once. I forgot who it was, but it was some former republican congressional leader. he was talking about how him and "Tip" O'neill (former Democrat speaker of the house) used to go out for beers or dinner once a week. They disagreed alot, but they could usually meet somewhere in the middle and get $hit done. Can you imagine if something like that happened now? They'd be kicked out of the party and shipped off to Devil's Island, or worse, Alaska!
