Just my 2 cents: Legislative branch has power to pass legislation and make Executive branch work under the new rules. If they feel that's what people need, maybe they'd do it to keep the voters happy. Heh. They might not be able to influence them in their daily job directly but with passing new laws - yes. If noone tells them people are unhappy, how should they find out?.. An inquiry is also a way of letting them know, among other things.

Sure. By all means write and ask for that inquiry. Never know it might help....or maybe help you vent and sleep better at night. I think you are mistaking my post. I never once said DON'T write them.

I am simply stating to the people that write to them, then get angry because they can't do anything to help them, or are not doing enough for them, well....they CAN'T do anything else for them at this point. Their hands are tied. Yes down the road laws could be changed....but that is not helping the people right now who are complaining their representative isn't/can't help them. The simple FACT is they can't do anything RIGHT NOW except make an inquiry. That is ALL they can do.

People have a misconception what the government is one enity and that their govenor or senator has the power to call and tell USCIS that their constituent is unhappy and they need to hurry and process their case. Then USCIS finds the case and pushes it through. This is not happening. The USCIS doesn't care if the govenor or senator's office wants them to do anything. They get 100's of these requests a day. They can't make everyone happy.

If you complain enough the system will be fixed? Nothing is going to be fixed until there is some kind of immigration reform passed, that they are working on now. Will it be better??? We can only wait and see.

Sooo, instead of writing my representatives and telling them my feelings about something they can influence, I should just deal with it?

I feel like it's easy for you to not care about visa processing time, your case is actually moving.

We should call and talk to our representative even if we think it is not going to make any difference. It might not make difference now but it can make difference in future for others who will go through the same process we are going right now.

I called and talked to my Congresswoman's office and they are inquiring my case. Didnt get much information except they said the wait time is 1 year now. I called Tier2 yesterday and today and talked to them. They said my file is still in MSC and I should wait tiill the normal processing time of 6 to 8 months.

Next wekk I will have an infopass. I will do everything I can. If we give up it's not going to change.

1 year to process the Ir1-cr1??? that's crazy!!!! might as well forget about this visa thing for the mean time..if it happens, it happens....i just noticed that the waiting period is making everyone frustrated, including me. biggrin.png But as far as I noticed it seems like we really can't do much, because when you try to give USCIS a call they will still tell you the same thing which is completely absurd!!! When you try to ask help from your senators or congressman or whoever in the government you can ask help with, you still end up getting frustrated some more because they will still tell you it takes up to a year.

I think the only thing I can do is prepare the documents needed for the next step, save money and try to divert my attention as much as possible to other things that needed some importance because this Visa process is becoming a stressor in my every day life and I don't wanna end up in a rehab institution just because I became depressed or somethin'. rofl.gif

I guess will be spending my birthday, our first christmas and new year as a couple and our 1st year anniversary without hubby around. That's just sad!!!! cray5ol.gif

I feel like it's easy for you to not care about visa processing time, your case is actually moving.

Once again....no where in any of my posts did I say to NOT call or write your represetatives. I am simply saying there is nothing they can do but inquire for you. They can not make the USCIS do anything to move your case along. Call and write as much as you want.

But yes, you should deal with it. Every one here has to deal with it. I had to deal with it up until a week ago. I could understand if your case was taking extremely longer than everyone else's, but it's not. Look around how many people have not had any movement on their cases for Jan, Feb, March, April.

I do care, and I have also talked to my representatives in the past about the visa process. That's how I came to realize how powerless they are in the process. I probably still have their emails still, stating how powerless they are after I wrote to them several times.

l also researched a lot before I began this process and saw that is was faster for me to live abroad while I petitioned. I am happy it worked as well as it did and that I took the time to research my case and what would work best for me. It still took a lot longer than expected. I am not going to apologize for my case moving along faster.

Do what ever you need to do for your case and to make yourself feel better, if that is calling your representative several times then do it. Just don't expect them to be able to do anything. I did not simply just make up this information to make people mad. Research it yourself and see. I just wanted people to realize how the government is setup and how the offices operate within the branches of government and where your representatives stand in this process so you are not putting all your hopes into them, then getting angry they wont do anything.

yea chris & trinh are right, i too went the representative route and many have, all that happens it the rep sends a letter to the uscis and the uscis says...uhhhhhh we are working on it and it will take a while. Specifically from my response i received "NBC continues to receive I-130s and ship them to the field for adjudication. Based on staffing, our current processing time for I-130s is 12 months."

We need some News media to take up our story. Just like the little girl who needed a lung transplant it was only when the News media brought up her story. Then the government listens to what we have to say. It sad that the only ones that can seem to move the government is the Media. My marriage is falling apart because of this long separation and no end in site. My wife want me to cancel the Visa this is when you can not be there together day by day. I was just in Brazil for three week with my family. How many of you are having problem with this long separations but they process people living together outside the USA in two to three months. The President talks about wanting to keep families together but immigration seem to have it backwards.

I think so too...bring this problem to national television or something.

Our application has routed to USCIS National Benefit Centre since March but we havent heard anything. Upon checking the processing time on VJ - IR1/CR1 Visa Historical Processing Times. There isn't a chart for applications routed to NBC. This section only shows applications routed to VSC, CSC and TSC. And when I searched specifically under USCIS NBC, the stats actually dont show that this center actually processes I-130. I know that this center did not process this form till late last year. Does this mean just nobody updated it or am I looking at the wrong place?!
